View Full Discussion Welcome to MT3 Cyber!
This is a cyberpunk inspired project that I developed based on the cyberpunk philosophy and MT3 tools developed for the community.
Design premises & project constraints:
• Color way & novelties:
Cyberpunk / neon palette and computing era references.
• Tech trash:
Utilize/recycle denied color samples from various projects I worked on during my life, since 2014.
• Function & form:
Combine kits considering popular keyboards, MT3 machine tools output and real life mold constraints, to accomplish function first (and some form as by product, hence the seemingly random colors).
• Optimal production:
Utilize the MT3 tools (Susuwatari) to achieve optimal production scenario, with zero waste, no tool cleaning, minimum possible manufacturing time.
Supporters will be able to utilize all the keys included to create a particular look unique to them. There are various accents, color hints to be used, on different areas of the keyboard so you can decorate your keyboard with cyberpunk/chaotic vibes.
Links:FAQ:Yes, this is a pre order in which everybody can buy kits at a heavily discounted price. After 30 days the prices will increase as the key caps will be for sale on a regular basis. If you want the keycaps for the lowest possible price, join as soon as you can during these initial 30 days.
MT3 double shot keycaps can't be made in R5, the molds do not exist.
This is unfortunately not possible without changing the whole production system for this keycap set.
None of the colors used in this project match the GMK/SA Laser project, the SA Laser R2 is coming Q1 2021.
- Can X keycap be added to Y kit?
Probably yes, you can ask me in the comments so I can double check for you.
- Does this work on my keyboard?
Join my Discord and show me what you got! Hopefully I can help you create your own drop to establish yourself as a part time/full time creator of key cap sets and keyboard goods.
- I have some design ideas for my own keycap set, can you help me?
The lack of a colemak/dvorak kit is pretty disappointing. Otherwise I’d be on this like white on rice.
That’s unfortunate, but perfectly understandable. Oh well.
Which keys exactly get discarded? Maybe some can be added to the set instead- i use alternative layout. (or did you mean the whole colevrak set, although its 43 keys?)
The description for the ortho kit mentions "a pair of ... 2.00u blanks", but the render only shows one. Which is correct?
Will there be an MT3 Laser keycap set at some point in the future? Or MT3 Mitolet? I'd totally dig those.
Joined anyway, not just because I'm also digging Cyberpunk 2077 as well as MT3. :-)
Would though have preferred some keys with pink-ish legends in the Ortho set. Just having blue and yellow legends looks to me like something's missing. But I bought both base sets so I can probably mix them a bit.
wow is this a new updated version of the ctrl that actually has even light distribution? jokes aside, that glossy irridescent color youve rendered looks fiiiire.
Thanks so much for a beautiful set of keycaps!
Will you be offering a Dvorak (Colemak, Workman, etc.) kit? That would seal the deal for me.
@MiTo love it, but really wish the ortho set included a not-yellow r4 return key, and had some options with pink legends, both like the base set does. I think that's probably gonna preclude me from purchasing it unfortunately, feels somewhat poorly thought out =(
The tools are like that, single keys can't be changed.
I don't follow, tooling is set up based on design right? I'm just saying I wish an extra not yellow return had been included, and that some of the accent keys had pink legends on the ortho set, so it's not missing as much flavor as the base kit. It's something I see a lot on ortho kits, and a perpetual disappointment haha. I know it's all a matter of trade offs, this is just some friendly feedback! Overall love the kit, but the ortho lacks a bit of the same magic.
do you plan to make a pink 1u keycaps for R2-R3 like BS or "Any Key"?
Man I could use some alt pink keycaps for this! I know it's not laser, but still!
