Welcome to the inaugural drop for the Project Mythos!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Purpose:
Offer to our community a series of affordable PBT keycap set designs - in various colorways and themes - using Greek mythology storytelling as the background. The first chapter of this project is about Pegasus, or in Portuguese - Pegaso.

Chapter 1 - The Myth of Pegaso
Please refer to the link below so you can read the myth.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Mitocorn kit:
This kit has no direct relation to the legend of Pegasus itself, but it can be done in the context of inexpensive high quality PBT and there was a large amount of requests for it. So I adapted the logo I made for the Pegasus (horse and wing) and included the iconic horn to the design - so we have a winged unicorn logo and the usual MiTo colors (purple, pink and cyan) in the kit.

Deskmats
I have designed mats that are versatile and neutral as they will work with the next Project Mythos keycap sets too.
Go ahead and vote here so you'll be notified of the deskmat sale:

Final thoughts:
Hope you enjoy the project and the final product as well.

Mar 26th Quick update: We don't have a firm estimate on the length of the delay for Pegaso (probably 2-6 weeks, but I'll have more info soon). Progress is being made, here's a sneak peak at some of keycaps from the latest sampling round. [SEE BOTTOM OF POST FOR MORE UPDATES]

April 21st Update:
There's one last color sample that we're waiting for final approval from MiTo from, and tracking shows that it should get to him in Brazil tomorrow. Assuming he OK's it, we're finally good on colors. There were a few legends that needed some tweaking, stroke sizes on some of the novelties, and some alignments that we've requested to be redone so that they're just right. Assuming everything gets confirmed this week, we're expecting the keycaps to be done around May 20th, and they'll get air-shipped to us by the end of May, and shipped to you in early June.
I'm hoping to have more photos of the most recent sample set to post later this week. Thanks for hanging in there everyone!
June 11th Update: All colors for the keycaps have been approved by MiTo. We are waiting on one last round of sampling to get MiTo’s approval on the legends before we go into production. There has been a lot of back and forth between MiTo and the factory with both parties working extremely hard to produce keycaps of the highest quality. Here is MiTo’s post for reference. Currently, we are estimating that MiTo should be receiving the next round of samples beginning of July, after which the factory will be producing the entire run. We can provide a better estimate on delivery date after this new round of samples are okayed. Conservative estimates would put us shipping these keycaps end of July/beginning of August. I’ll provide another update with firm delivery dates once this next set of sampling is finished.
July 31 Update: Mito should be posting an update with photos in the coming days.
September 3rd Update: These are scheduled to ship from the manufacturer on September 15th. Given the usual transit times, I expect these to be in our warehouse and shipping to individuals by September 29th, but will update here if anything changes.
September 23rd update: These were picked up from the manufacturer on Sept 21st, and are making their way to the USA now. New ship date is probably around Oct 6th. Will post another update as soon as they arrive at our warehouse.
October 2nd Update: These are shipping now! Extras going on sale around 10/10
October 14th Update: Most people have received their orders by now. Please leave a review and a photo if you get a chance! We're aware of the issue with the FJ5 homing keys being scooped+barred, instead of separately, and we're talking to the manufacturer to get a fix kit made (i.e. extra, proper, keycaps will be mailed out to all participants when they're available/ready). Since we need to make these fix kits, we'll unfortunately have to delay the sale of the extras until the fix kits are ready, and we'll sell extras (with the fix kits attached). Trying to get an ETA on the fix kits in the next few days.
Nov 22nd Update: They're working on making the homing keys, and once we get them, we'll ship them (for free) to everyone who pre-ordered a set of Pegaso. The manufacturing pipeline is jammed right now with other keycap designs so we're trying to get space for our tiny project/request. Exact ETA is unknown, but hopefully by the end of the year.
Nov 23rd Update: Extras of the Pegaso keycaps will be put up for sale in the next day or so. There's about 250 base kits of extras available. Base kits will not include the "extra" homing keys (that are missing from pre-orders), but they should be available for sale for $5 per set when we get them. Note you don't need them, there are already other homing keys included in the base kit.
Why are the coloured enter and esc accent keys in the MASSIVE novelties kit? There is so much bloat in the base kit, why not include them there. This move feels like a money grab trap to get you buy the novelties as well.
Edited: Money grab was an unfair suggestion, these prices are very fair, and the novelties kit is also good value.
Well said.
Honestly, when I see a drop like this, I can't help but think that someone is pulling a fast one. During my time in the community, I can say that I've benefited much more from comments by the pessimists and the realists. Those naysayers have saved me so much time and money. And now that I've been around a while, I feel obliged to pay that forward. That being said, your points are well taken. I sincerely hope that this drop turns out fantastic for everyone.
Now I'm gonna go hunt for bargains on pmk.
josh_bWell, sure, each to his/her own!
Though you made a point there with the unknown manufacturer. But again, as I said, we'll only know when the GB is done and everyone receives his/her set, THEN we'll know whether or not this set is a bargain. I am pretty sure I'll be one of the loudest criticizing person at that time if there are severe quality issues. But for now, I am happy and grateful that MiTo is coming up with the MiToCORN (Looks real nice), and that he's offering it for $70.
I also feel you on voicing out opinions, because that was the case with SA Yuri, I really wanted the set, but the pricing was just crazy (ironically, it's from SP). I gave examples of how the pricing is crazy compared to previous SP sets or to current GMK sets, but Designer and Drop decided to go forward with it, in which case I can only accept by not purchasing a set.
Beautiful work @MiTo huge fan of this set definitely will be picking up before the drop ends! If only I had that all white ALT high-profile to mount these bad boys on....
WOW... You really went there. The coniferous does outdo the camping but they both look absolutely amazing on it. I have always loved Matte on anything, especially seeing it on this keeb. I have the same TKL but in the wonderful MiTo Pulse colorway, I will 100% be looking into finding one for resale somewhere, or just a high-profile TKL case in general, just so I can try the Ceratoke finish on it as I will always love and never change my TKL ctrl Pulse, its too beautiful the way it is. I'm so happy to try this out!
So there's an entirely new manufacturer and you still choose to go with legacy kit setup like GMK? Why not take a cue from KAT, SA, etc? Modular kits are much more versatile.
Or if the argument is confused why not run it like the recent GMK Red Samurai, XDA Canvas, etc? Where we also get complete kits with alphas and different type of mods?
It seems like a missed opportunity to improve on the ridiculous GMK kit setup.
harlekeinThis type of kit organization is literally all new, we have a compact and cheap base with a numpad extension and novelties.
It can’t possibly get any better than this. It’s $70 my man, breaking it into several mini kits didn’t translate in any meaningful discount as I obviously have thought about that. Not to mention many people don’t like to order 5 different kits, they don’t understand how that work and get confused.
The kits on sale for Canvas and Samurai are mostly made for Drop keyboards, they ain’t remotely close for being adequate to a proper pre order like we have here.
A quick update for the participants, below you can observe the legend quality I expect you to get, applied on the actual Mitocorn color correct key cap kit. I was told that production is moving based on the several rounds of reports I provided for legend alignment, thickness and positioning. The templates I provided back in the day were pixel perfect, I have worked on each character to the decimals of a millimeter and the positioning as well. Based on the samples I have gotten I am pushing for the highest accuracy and consistency across the kits as possible for you. Here's hoping you'll be getting the key caps soon. Take these pictures with a grain of salt since they were shot with a phone, maybe they can with the anxiety and we can all enjoy the kits soon.
michaelhuynh93Yeah, the alternate homing keys are the biggest selling point for CRP for me (epbt has improved their dyesub quality, and usually ships on time, but the weird homing keys make me irrationally angry)
Maybe you dont like it but its common to find it that way in sets with both legends and icons like this, or this, or this.
All in the same line is not so common.
