Love love love the cyberpunk design of the keycaps, but couldn't quite get into the SA profile after using them for a few months. My keyboard looked rad the entire time though.
If this is on your wishlist or planning on buying this set, don't hesitate and buy it trust me but make sure you plan out what you base and switches you want on it and whether or not you want an aviator cable for the extra aesthetic
As stated in other reviews, I'm a fan boi for signature plastics. I already enjoy gmk Lazer and all its different kits, so I had to have this.
The kit was complete, nothing was missing.
The finish feels grand, as per usual, and I liked that the base kits came with a few novelty caps.
I got the base kits on sale for 60 ish bucks, which felt like theft, ngl. Haha
Typical SP, great caps, but why do they insist on not using boxes (mostly, my Godspeed SA sets did have nice boxes). Overall this kit is pretty nice, great colors and pretty complete base kit (Synthwave) including some nice novelties. My one complaint is that unlike the normal Laser sets there is no option for Synthwave alphas without sublegends, which IMO would look cleaner.
The keycaps look fantastic, but first I'm going to discuss the downsides.
When I went to buy the keycaps, I assumed that the picture shown corresponded to the version I purchased. Because I didn't change the version before I purchased, I thought that there wouldn't be any non-English (Korean I think, maybe Japanese?) characters on them. This isn't the biggest deal for me because they look cool, but it's not exactly what I wanted. The keycaps came in a bag instead of a box like others, which meant they were less protected. The bigger "issue" I have with this is that it's ABS, unlike many premium keycaps which are PBT. On the upside, they use thicker ABS, which feels more premium and makes them more durable. I also would have preferred the newer MT3 profile, but that's personal preference.
Now for the good: These keycaps look amazing! The color scheme looks great and the art on the additional keycaps are really fun. Because they're thicker ABS, they feel high quality too. Luckily, the tooling marks on the keycaps (at least the set that I got) are barely noticeable.
Bottom-line: I recommend them, but there are a few drawbacks, as I noted.
Weasel-In-A-CanThank you for your review. A case could be made that since the primary photos for this keycap set feature all-English Alphas, they should have been included. Though, the default selection ('Cyberdeck 2') in the dropdown menu shows that only the Gaijin Alphas are included. Thankfully, the standard Alphas are available separately.
