Hi Everyone,
We're aware of the keycap error regarding the numerical row "5%" key, and Signature Plastics is working on making replacements to ship out as quickly as possible.
For those who ordered Laser from the "Extras" sets in the past couple of weeks, we'll be holding shipments that include Cyberdeck until the fixed keycap is available and ship everything in a single box.
For people who already received their Cyberdeck sets with the defective keycap, we will be sending out a replacement keycap. Precise ETA isn't available but Signature Plastics is pausing other production projects to slot this fix in, so we're talking probably weeks, not months (subject to the usual COVID uncertainty).
Here's to Cyberdeck 🥂, the most reprinted kit in history (sadly, it isn't).
April 22nd Update: The replacement 5% keycaps are currently scheduled to ship out early next week.
May 1st Update: Not all of these have been shipped yet, but I'm being told they should go out over the weekend.
May 4th update: over 70% of the orders have shipped, more going out later today/tonight, and whatever is left will likely ship on Tuesday May 5th or Wednesday May 6th.

While Hondros may have his opinion regarding this, I personally prefer the set to be shipped to the highest standard possible, and thank you for the production sample pictures. the reason why we wanted them was not to colour match them etc. But cause we wanted to see that something was actually happening with our own eyes instead of just being told things. Im personally satisfied for now, and could wait another couple of months if it meant it comes out perfect. Drops incompetence however in terms of communication really is unacceptable.

Here's the latest update for SA Laser. @mito has been working hard with Signature Plastics to ensure everything is made to his specifications.
After production, we discovered issues with the molded legends found in the Cyberdeck and Gaijin kits. Those specific keycaps do not match the design files to the tolerance that we expect and as a result, need to be remade from scratch. This also means we need to order additional resin, which has a 4-week lead time. Our current estimate is that this rework will be completed in February assuming everything goes smoothly. We will send another update once we have a more accurate estimated ship date.
All of the other kits have been approved by @mito and are physically on their way to our warehouse. We are expecting them to arrive before January 22nd, and we’ll be packing and shipping the orders over the following week.
Those of you who purchased Cyberdeck or Gaijin kits - due to the lengthy delays that have already occurred, we’ve made the decision to split your orders into two shipments and absorb the costs associated with sending out two packages. Your first shipment will have everything except Cyberdeck and/or Gaijin, and you will receive a subsequent Gaijin/Cyberdeck kit shipment once those are ready.
We will follow up with another update closer to the January shipping date.

Yes I own some. Maxkeys quality isn't as good as SP. Whether it would be flaws in the legends or in some parts of the molding. Yeah.....
SP isn't perfect either don't get me wrong, but I've seen far more issues with Maxkeys vs SP.

I own the recent leviathan set. Maxkey caps are known for their matte finish feel. Totally different from the sp’s shiny & smooth feel. I went in this gb just for the finishing feel, it’s why I pay so much.

Latest update from Signature Plastics (SP) is that this is on schedule for delivery (to our warehouse) in the last week of February. So we should be getting it out either that same week, or the first week of March. Will post another update when we hear from SP.

KevinI see that these arrived in the warehouse today, I'll follow up with our logistics team but I think the Gaijin kits (and orders that are pending, that do not include Cyberdeck) will get shipped out later this week.

Are we going to get a shipping update anytime soon? We're 4 days past the estimated shipping date. I understand that there an issue with the set but at least give us an update, send us an email, some communication would be nice.

For the record I'm still seeing updates on the original batch from late 2019 but no updates on the recent batch from March 2020 so far.

Hey everyone,
Unbelievably excited to announce SA Laser as the keycap set for May! This Cyberpunk/Outrun inspired keycap set originated with GMK Laser (https://drop.com/buy/massdrop-x-mito-gmk-laser-custom-keycap-set) in 2017 and it’s coming back in SA Profile!
The tall spherical SA profile keycaps are a community favorite and we are thrilled to bring the iconic Gaijin and Kobe Alphas to the profile. In addition, @mito designed a few new and interesting kits (including @Oblotzky’s Oblivion inspired modifiers) that will be sure to please.
One of my favorites from the new offering is the Cyberdeck kit - it’s an homage to the original Laser Cyberdeck kit and is in a more flat R2-R2-R3-R3-R3-R3 setup, which @mito prefers for everyday typing.
With many different keyboards covered in this run, I can’t wait to see what everyone’s keyboards look like when these ship.
Some process-related notes - if you have an active order that hasn't completed yet and want to make any adjustments to it, please just cancel the order on your transaction page and re-order with your desired kits. This will ensure there are no payment errors when the run ends.

Apologies on the email sent earlier with information about delays in relation to the coronavirus. SA Lasers are NOT being produced in China and are NOT affected by delays in reference to the outbreak. My apologies for the confusion.

Depending on the color and exact chemical formulation of resin used a little bit of bleed/translucency is bound to happen when it comes to double shot injection molded plastic. Unfortunately it is just not possible to obtain keycaps perfect like seen on a digital render. I have observed what you described and brought to the manufacturer during production phase, what we concluded after looking at the technical limitations and the results obtained is that making it better was just not possible without altering the colors entirely. The neon pink resin is very sharp and characteristic to the Laser project and so the purple hues, looking at the technology available at this point of time there is just no solution. We are enthusiasts and spend lots of time crafting, using and like you did, observing the keycaps but injection molded plastic results can't possibly be 100% perfect, not even LEGO nor GMK. If you observe the keycaps from a very close distance or macro shots you will for sure encounter imperfections. There is nothing I, @Kevin or even the manufacturer themselves can do about this.

MiToThanks! Honestly I'm glad to know it was noticed and looked into, which wasn't previously communicated. If this is the limitations of the material, there's obviously not more to be done.
