Does the nitinol headband break in and loosen over time?
I just got mine and I'm enjoying them. However, they clamp down on my head a lot more than my well-worn Aeon Flows. This wouldn't bother me much by itself but that it puts a bit of pressure near the front of my ear.
nitinol does not loosen over time, recommend that you keep adjusting the band to see how clamping changes with different settings.
How do they compare to the Aeon Flows?
The Ethers sound a bit clearer and less congested compared to the Aeon Closed - I'd say a good step up though the sound signatures sound similar. The ear pads can be swapped out if you're into pad rolling; you can't really do that on the Aeons (due mainly to their non-standard shape).
The Aeons are a bit more comfortable primarily due to less clamping force (I don't know if this is particular for my headphones or a property of the Aeons). They're the most comfortable headphones I've ever used.
