I know it's closed back versus open back but how do these compare to the HD6XX or 58X? I have both of those.

Hmm okay. Well I found those pads on Amazon US but due to the current "pandemic" I'm not sure they will ship to Canada. Also these headphones would be over $1,000 Canadian plus shipping and customs fees. That would be by far the most I have ever paid for a headphone.

Mark_MThey don't. They are tuned very aggressively in comparison. The hd6xx is very dark and has boosted vocals. The ethers are much less consumer oriented and sound a lot more like dt 1990 or hd 800s. They can be pretty sharp in the highs and anemic in the bass if you are used to consumer tuning. They extend further in the bass and treble than the hd6xx. I'd like at focal elears or ZMF auteurs if you want a more direct upgrade path. The ethers are much more comfortable, especially with zmf pads. The sound isolation is pretty nice too when you are used to open backs. I love both my hd 650s and ethers for the record. They just do stuff way differently and are jarring to compare.
