This keycaps set is far way better than all the official pictures from Drop!! I almost miss the most gorgeous gray ‘n soft bright blue that I am seeking for long. Clean look not shouting out and blend well with my Tiger80 Arctic Sky! For the quality, you can rest assure on Drop mt3 ABS double shot, only a bit warp on 7u spacebar but not a big problem at all.
First ever MT3 profile keycaps. Got it during the MT3 BOGO sale. Photos on the product page does not accurately depict the colours of the keycaps. The keycaps actually look more vibrant and vivid. Good quality doubleshot ABS keycaps as well, no manufacturing defect from the set I got.
Rated 4.5. The Drop Fairlane MT3 profile set shown here installed on an Iqunix OG80 Wintertide keyboard. The manufacturing quality is superb and its well packaged. The designers color combination is outstanding. This will look good on many different keyboards.
My only complaint is what others have previously stated. The poor legends contrast of the alpha keys under various light conditions. This may not bother some folks, but I'm a pilot, not a typist.
Perhaps, if Drop decides to offer a Cherry profile Fairlane set, this can be rectified with a brighter white. The MT3 is initially a different feel and experience. And, thats not a bad thing...just different. Contrast issues aside, I do like the set. In fact, I ordered the accompanying accent set too. Gotta Gotta have... those red arrow keys. The Fairlane is a well designed set that could be made into a great set, by improving the legends contrast.
I love the look of this set. I would say the lighter blue is a bit more pale in person and the darker blue is a bit more bright. I actually love this more than in the photos though so I am very happy with this set.
The packaging is great, a very sturdy nice looking box containing the typical drop trays, and the caps are the typical high quality of ABS MT3. The kitting on the basekit is better than typical for an MT3 set with the 1800 support and R2 up arrow that I like to use. I would like to see something that could be used as a F13 key, but there are at least R0 caps I could use even if they are duplicate (R1 Any Key can do as well).
The only real complaint is that the alphas are rather low contrast, so I may pair the mods with a different set that has the opposite problem (like MT3 Iron Man or Captain America), but besides that they are a very nice set of keycaps.
Nice feeling and looking keycaps, but on the Keychron Q1 some of the keys near the corners get stuck down on the case. You may have to shift around the pcb a little (gasket-mounted), or file a little of the keycaps down to stop this. The keycaps will probably wear away with use if you don't, and that could make it stop sticking.
MT3 Fairline is very nice.
I think this colorway and the red Planck look great together and subsequently, my keyboard is somewhat lacking in comparison.
The light blue is a little lighter than I figured.
I would have liked there to be a Colemak-DH option.
The red Esc works well with MT3 3277.
Great set if you're looking for something light blue like I was. I don't personally care for the red accents so I'm just using the blue mods. I was hoping the legends would be clearer in person, but the base color of the alphas is just a little too bright for my taste. I'm happy with this set overall though.
