Okay drop. It's time you put the MT3 down and back away. Don't touch it again unless you have matt3o on board. You're going all GMK on this and randomly iterating.
It doesn't look like a car new or old. It doesn't evoke anything other than color clashes. 🙄
I'd be ok with more blank R4s as well. Those don't feel so bad when you can flip them over on the bottom row. For less jank, more blanks would be nice. Or just a blanks kit (is that a thing already?). A smattering of colors in various profiles to sprinkle about the board as needed for us ortho nerds.
chewiediesI tried the inverted R4 on R5 thing when I first got into MT3 and there weren't yet any R5-native options. I still use inverted R4 for my Planck's raise and lower, but for the best of R5 I find inverted R4 to be uncomfortable on my thumbs.
MiToEverything that has been done with some of the dye-sub variants so far. Your MT3 Godspeed is a shining example of how to do it right. I understand ABS molds cost more, but if we could go back in time:
R5 bottom row
Novelties which are unique and convey the theme of the set
Support for alternative layouts (Colevrak and Norde)
Alternate alpha's would be fun
And I have to say, I respect Matt3o, but the font and mods for Susuwatari should never have become the blueprint for all following ABS sets. Both MT3 Godspeed and MT3 Serika would have made for a better default.
I understand the MT3 ABS has been a long, painful and costly road and I can only guess there's some sort of deal here in which a number of ABS sets have to be produced before new molds are created, if ever, but the current offerings are falling short and I think current sales numbers are reflecting that.
Additionally I think it was a mistake to have made a gritty texture for ABS keys. As we have seen with GMK, shine develops quickly and it would have been better to have made the keys smooth from the start, similar to SA, so surface consistency is uniform and lasts.
I really don't understand why all the MT3 ABS sets have 1.5u command instead of super. Super is generic, it fits with any OS and is included at 1.25u already. Command is Mac specific and isn't included at 1.25u.
I want to like this set so badly (love me a clean shiny Fairlane drop-top). You could have had some really cool retro car-themed novelties (and a mirror-finish "chrome" artisan) with this set. All you would've had to do is, I don't know, *looked at* a Fairlane, or even a Cougar, or basically any car from around 1963, but no. There's nothing unique about this set. Disappointed.
Any chance that an alpha colored spacebar kit can be added (or split spacebar caps be added to the base kit)? Personally, I hate mod or accent colored spacebars, and that is the only option for an Alice layout or a split spacebar build.
FatalruinYeah, actually 2.25u and 2.75u spacebars could really be included in the base kit with Alice-like layouts being so popular. It's getting more common in sets by GMK and others.
BkeyIndeed, I do not doubt at all that there will be takers in any case. I personally would have loved to see a darker color printed on the alphas, but that's just me!
