Hello! Shortly after launching DCX Jasmine, one of the winners from our first DCX colorway poll, we're very excited to announce that Jasmine is coming to MT3! All of you spherical-profile lovers can now enjoy the soothing greens of Jasmine alongside your cylindrical counterparts. There's a jasmine for everyone now. 💆‍♀️ What would you like to see next for MT3?

HoffmanMysterPlease do an alpha kit in the green mod color. That would be an insta-buy for me. As is, I have plenty of BOW alphas and though I like this colorway, I couldn’t justify adding yet another one. The green mod color is pretty though, and I would definitely buy an alpha kit in that. (PS: Ditto for Serika, Noctua, Jukebox, Pulse, and all your other WOB, BOW, or neutral alphas where the interesting colors are only on the mods. Color-swap them all!)

WandersFarResponded to you on reddit already, haha. But yes! Totally agree. They could all use color-swapped alphas. :)

HoffmanMysterI would like to see more PBT keysets in the MT3 profile. Not related to MT3, I'd like ortho sets for DCX too, it's always a bummer that I can't try the profile because I use ergo/ortho keyboards.

HoffmanMysterPrefacing this with the fact that MT3 is my personal favorite profile, so I have a couple things I’d like to see going forward to further improve it. (Fair warning, I like to use parentheticals a lot). I second the request for more PBT MT3 sets. /dev/tty was my first aftermarket keycap set (besides like standard pudding caps) and is still one of my favorites, especially with the extra sets like Lost+Found (big fan of the classic Windows keys) and Unicorn Barf (aka RGB now for whatever reason) and having both R4 and R5 bottom rows included (I like the normal R4 bottom row but R5/R2 for my arrows). I’ve since gotten all of the MT3 PBT sets that I’m aware of (/dev/tty Triumph, both Godspeed, Serika R2, all three LotR, and 9009) besides Extended 2048 (not a huge fan of icon mods personally, and don’t have a use case at this time for a Mac themed board). Besides more PBT sets a couple things I’d like to see in kitting is it being more standard is including in base kits two extra caps. Namely an R2 up arrow (like this set does) and some extra R0 cap as F13 is getting very common on boards now (GMMK Pro, NK87, the Upcoming QK75, the knob less Q1, or the Zoom TKL to name a few) anything reasonably vague like an F13 or an “Any Key” would be good, or at least a delete. The ABS novelty kits tend to have a few, so at least one in the base kit should be possible (like the Noctua set with its included R0 novelties), and for PBT sets like how 9009 has an F13. I also like the idea of alpha/mod kits. I like having fairly complete base kits, but I also like the idea of mixing kits. For example Ironman alphas with WoB mods as the regular mods are harder to read or something like 9009 or /dev/tty alphas with Godspeed mods to make it look like the Supernova alphas in SA Godspeed. As far as new sets, two of the new DCX colorways would be ones I’d be interested in for MT3, Permafrost and Hyperfuse. I’m also interested in the “Chromax” Noctua sets that were mentioned as possible in the past (especially if it has color accent kits in the colors Noctua uses for the rubber dampeners that come with Chromax fans e.g. blue, red, green, yellow, and white). A color that is pretty lacking in MT3 is anything purple that would match well with a lilac board (like the CTRL high profile or the Zoom TKL in lilac for instance). All the purple sets I’m aware of are pretty dark purple (Cyber, Black Panther, Infinity War). So to reference existing sets maybe something like MT3 Serenity or Mitolet now that MT3 Pulse exists, still a bit dark, but a better match. And as a final note, something I’d like to mention is that I would like to see more of a gap between when a new set goes on deep sale or is eligible for the BOGO deals, or if not that maybe a deeper preorder discount. It’s happened a couple times in the past now that it was possible to get one of the new sets for a fair amount cheaper rather shortly after they have started shipping (don’t recall the exact timeline but I recall this happening with Godspeed and 9009 I believe going BOGO rather soon after shipping). I’ve found myself disincentivized to preorder base kits as they end up much cheaper shortly after they become in stock. As it stands I’m unlikely to preorder this set since my next club coupon won’t be up until after the preorder period making it much cheaper to just wait a month or so after it starts shipping and getting it in a future BOGO deal and not needing to tie up that money for an extra month or longer.

ChewieSoloThank you for the thorough write-up! This is exceptional feedback to receive, I've already passed it along to the rest of the team. I know at least a couple of the items you've called out are on the roadmap, but it's really great to see such a thought out response so thank you again. On the colorway conversation, I think the intention is to eventually equalize MT3 and DCX, bringing everything to both profiles. Will take some time of course. :) Your request for a purple has me envisioning an MT3 Magnolia looking really nice on the lilac case... 🤔 The last point you brought up is something that I had personally never considered - apologies for the times that you've been burned for supporting a set early. Another valuable point of feedback that we will take into account going forward. It's always a balance between being too stingy with the deals and overly generous to the point that it hurts early adopters; we'll continue to fine-tune and try to find the right tradeoff there. :) Thanks again for the response and feedback.
