Pretty great set of wireless IEMs for the price
Let me preface this by saying that while I consider myself someone who enjoys trying out different audio equipment and finding things that I like, I am far from technical enough with it to call myself a true audiophile. That being said, hopefully you'll find a review from someone from the middle of that spectrum a bit useful. So, first things first. In agreement with some of the other reviews here, it can be a bit of a pain to fiddle with the ear tips and find a good fit for you. After trying all of them, I settled on the medium bi-flange tips. After finding the right way to settle them into my ears, they are comfortable, provide pretty good isolation (I couldn't hear my fiance speaking to me while I had some light music going at all), and sound pretty good. Definitely agree that making the entire surface the control, while a good LOOKING design, isn't that practical if you're struggling to find a good fit. Playing/pausing, changing tracks, and changing volume can also mess with the fit that you've managed to get. I've found that using my pointer finger to brace it while pressing the bud with my thumb is the best way to negate this. Second, the soundstage is certainly limited compared to other options (even, to my ears, my Airpods). That being said, the primary reason I was interested in pursuing these was that Airpods just don't stay set in my ears and I end up with a lot more noise pollution than I like (which is...well, none). I will be interested to see how this changes as I burn them in, but judging from other reviews here, I'm not super optimistic. That being said, I am noticing details in sounds of songs I listen to regularly that I miss on other headphones that I use, which is certainly a good sign for IEMs. I have not run into any issues with getting the buds linked with each other or synced with my iPhone X, which is by FAR the biggest complaint I've seen on other Bluetooth buds I've looked at that weren't Airpods. These sync quickly and without any sort of difficulty straight out of the box, so I admit that I'm a little confused at what problems others could be running into with this. It's also difficult to believe that anyone would find fault with the volume of these buds unless they ended up with a lemon...they are pretty darn loud. I'm typing this review with them running at about 50% volume from my iPhone and I normally listen to my music on the louder side. This is a minor complaint, but unlike some others, I'm not a real huge fan of the coating on the case. It reminds me of holding something covered in very fine grade sandpaper, which for some reason gives me a bit of a cringe feeling akin to nails on chalkboard. Still, not that big a deal and more just of a personal thing. Overall, very strong IEM buds for the price paid. Considering the competition, if you want wireless, I'd say these are definitely worth it. If you can live with wires, well... it probably goes without saying that you'll find better sounding, more feature-rich buds out there.
