Though the Oblivion colorway has long been associated with programming, it’s a true juggernaut in the world of keycaps. Since Oblivion first launched, Oblotzky’s signature set has become one of the most recognizable on the market—but it hasn’t been available in SA profile for nearly 3 years. Today that changes. Because the original set was so popular, Oblotzky has (for the most part) stayed true to that design. However, this time around the kits have been slightly trimmed and condensed. There are also some exciting new offerings, like the ASCII Alphas and VIM keys. Styled in light gray with slightly beige legends, the alphas are understated and sleek. They pair well with the modifiers, which don a darker gray with a variety of accent colors for the legends—from green and blue to orange, red, and purple.
Made of durable ABS plastic, SA Oblivion is doubleshot injected to prevent the legends from fading over time. Sculpted in popular SA profile, the keycaps are tall and shaped with a prominent curve from front to back. For maximum compatibility, the stems are designed to fit on Cherry MX switches and clones.
There are two main colorways for the Alphas: the standard gray Oblivion alphas and the white Hagoromo Alphas (named after the famous chalk maker). There are also two types of Alphas, including those with standard latin center legends and the new ASCII Alphas with dual legends.
There are three different modifier kits: Oblivion-colored standard text modifiers, monochrome standard text modifiers, and Git modifiers with Oblivion-colored, Git-inspired legends.
The Numpad kit is available in both Oblivion and Hagoromo colorways.
The Assembly kit contains modifiers and spacebars for ortholinear keyboards.
The 40bit kit contains modifiers and spacebars for 40% keyboards.
The ErgoDox kit includes modifiers and Git-inspired modifiers for the ErgoDox keyboard.
Choose these kits if you’re building a specific color layout and want to swap the function row.
The Arrows kit is great for those who prefer icons instead of text modifiers on their arrow keys.
This kit contains add-on keycaps for use with the text editor Vim.
