I have no use for a neck knife as anything tied around my next drives me completely insane, and when there's a bit of weight to it the discomforting effect is exponentially magnified. That said, however... Dear Mr. and Ms. Pelton of DPx Gear: this is by far the most cheese-dicked, chicken-shit move I've ever witnessed within the knife community, and surely between one creator and another. No one who would have bought a reasonably-priced, (Mass)Drop-made and Mr. Carey-designed knife would have done so to the exclusion of buying one of the over-priced, sharpened bits of banality you call a knife. In fact, the exact opposite might have actually happened. You probably aren't aware of this, but knife consumers quite frequently own more than a single knife, and often purchase more expensive knives that have features they've already tried and appreciated in less expensive types. Regardless though....what a wanker move. Seriously, seriously wanked. It pleases me to be certain that my lack of ownership of anything DPx will never change. A bit petty, perhaps? Most definitely, but still no worse than the second-most petty thing going on around here. Regards, Hatu.

HatuletohActually, it is not the worst, but close. Pelton had his own discussion area on Blade Forums, and proceeded to argue, attack, threaten and otherwise engage in negative communication resulting in Blade Forums shutting it down. Evidently Pelton doxed some people whose comments he didn't care for, resulting in a donnybrook: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/dpx-gear-what-exactly-happened.818916/

PNWNativeDuuuuude...WTF? Posting he wife's personal info too? Suggesting his fans should make use of it to harass the woman and her husband? Even in 2011 we knew that the only time that was an acceptable thing to do--if ever--was when dealing with the worst of the worst sort of scum. Like, I don't know...maybe a convicted child molester trying to skip out on his court-mandated monitoring? Criticism of your knife doesn't really meet that very stringent standard. I guess it's not too surprising, considering Pelton's biography--found front and center on the main landing page of the DPx website, btw--claims he participated in 26 "wars", and talks about his daughter watching him "disappear again into the mists of battle", or something along those lines. I'm not saying the guy has never been in combat, but I didn't know there had even been 26 wars in the world over the last 20-30 years. Regardless of the details, it's hilarious and sad that a dude who claims such levels of badassery has an ego so dainty it can be dealt near-mortal wounds by the metaphoric spitball gun that is an online critic. Then,11 following his initial anger, Pelton--the person with infinitely more clout in a discussion of knives, no matter any personal shortcomings--totally lacked the self-discipline and situational awareness to pull back, cool down, and let the issue fade away, or at least ignore it so that he didn't become the author of his own unflattering tabloid drama. But nope. He instead decided to employ the Internet conflict tactics of a hormonal, adolescent girl who saw one of her supposed female friends flirting with the boy whom she herself liked. Amazing. Pathetic. Hilarious. It sure does put a cease-and-desist letter into context. Thanks for pointing out that thread to me.
