Paired with Gazzew Boba U4 RGBs (somehow still not yellow) and *a lot* of foam, I've got a great-feeling tactile keyboard that is practically silent. Thanks, Drop! I've left one star out as unfortunately they don't come factory-lubed - you'd think a pack of silent stabilizers would.
So the stabilizers are great, and probably a really valuable upgrade for some cheaper built keyboards out there. However, they are being advertised as an upgrade part for transitioning from an existing V1 Ctrl keyboard to the V2 build. I just finished installing them and I'm typing this review using them and I do not feel any difference from the stock ones. Looking at them side by side and feeling them, it feels like my "V1" keyboard already has phantom stabilizers..
I did take a couple videos before/after focusing on the spacebar and left shift (my most abused keys) and I think there is a slight reduction in 'slop' and a notable reduction in rattling, but I would have gotten the exact same results if I just lubed the old ones.
Probably a great product, but dissapointed that Drop seemed to just sell me a clear-edition of the parts I already have.
These are very nice, and they are working well in my Drop CTRL high-profile keyboard. However, I couldn't use the spacebar stabilizer because it was too binding. I chose to put the stock CTRL stabilizer back in and it works fine. Nothing I did in terms of lubing or re-securing or re-aligning the stabilizer would help. A shame because the rest of the stabilizers are just fine.
These are really nice stabs. After some significant lube they sound great. Beforehand they were not in great conditions. I personally do not like hand lubing anything. I do not like the feel even when I do everything right. I like factory lube a lot better as I feel it is more even then when I end up putting on. That being said these were really easy to take apart and lube. They also were a very nice upgrade from the stabs that came with the case.
If this is your first time having to take apart, lube and/or modify stabs I would try experimenting on some before spending the money. I did run into some issues with these stabs, but I have run into and solved these some problems in the past many times. Definitely a good purchase if you have some experience lubing/modifying stabs.
Not a lot of plate mount options out there that blow my socks off, these come decently close ,but as another reviewer said, they're great *for plate mount* just not great *in general* yet.
