It saddens me to see Drop as a platform supporting and showcasing Cocobrais after his detraction and harmful actions within the mechanical keyboard community that he initially tried to launch this project in. I would urge others to not support this product or this person. Pretty much more than half the things you own were made in similar fashion. Unfortunately thats the nature of the business. When Glorious started more into the customized keyboard world people just attacked them like some little cult of weebs. If they wanted the market for themselves they should have stayed in their basement sipping their god awful tea.
Jyobahuhmm.. I'm all for more people making alternatives, I think you're misunderstanding the situation lol.
the runner of this set was trying to prevent someone else from making something similar. he is the one that was trying to keep the market for himself when he had no right to.
Drop getting as dodgy as on-selling this idiot coco’s set. They should be ashamed of themselves. Then again they haven’t done a loyal follower/customer any simple favours recently soooo...don’t buy this set and look elsewhere for any others.
but he did tho?? the design is based on an old vherry board from the 90's, yes, but he still made it into its own set so he made the set. Also no @Rowdy2026 i am not coco, just a person from germany who cant stand how toxic this community is.
have a great day everyone <3
KeyboardPersondear lord at the risk of feeding an almost obvious troll, we have to rehash the already known story AGAIN. Someone else tried to do just that, the thing that Coco did to cause people to rightfully hate him was to play dishonest and illegitimate "intellectual property" games to force that other person's set to get dropped and blackballed for a time. If you actually spend time looking at facts, not everything is simply toxicity my friend. I sincerely doubt anyone here would give two hoots on niffleheim about Coco if he didn't unjustly spike another creator the way he did.
Funny how there are comments saying people shouldn't buy this set due to some actions by the runner, and blaming Drop along with it, yet in the IC for the GMK rerun, which is going to run on another vendor, its all "oh yes I can't wait to buy this", no flaming the vendor or anything. Quite hilarious.
cptyyzWhere can I find it?
Let me know so I can spread my opinion jam more evenly across the English muffin that is the internet and alleviate your poor triggered soul.
TIA
You know, I said this on another part of the site, but I'm pretty sure my sacrasm/humor is never understood.
What I'm saying is: people can love what they want, but as a designer I legitimately hate the colors. I can, however, appreciate the history to a degree.
It's not about the group buy organizer not delivering. It's been approved by SP, the manufacturer and will be shipped to drop so that's not an issue.
It's more about him taking a design he didn't make and does not own and opening a group buy on it, which is fine under the circumstances of Handarbeit's origins. But the problem is that he refuses to let others use the same design by lying to SP claiming he made and owns the colorway and doesn't approve of others using it so no one other than him can use the design in other profiles/sets as long as SP is the manu.
I understand you don't like the GH community, I can empathize with that. However, objectively looking at how Cocobrais is acting I don't see how you can see GH as the bad guys without willful ignorance.
https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=111816.msg3026776#msg3026776 TL;DR for those who don't want to read the link everyone is sharing: SA Handarbeit organizer had claimed ownership of the colorway and requested Signature Plastics prevent another user from running a similar set earlier this year. The colorway is based off of a vintage keyboard - so claiming ownership / gatekeeping the colorway is a dick move. Signature Plastics had done the right thing and is now allowing the other user to run his own version of Handarbeit. Cocobrais (the original runner, and the one behind SA Handarbeit here) is clearly trying to cash-grab, by running both SA and GMK R2 for this set while barring others from running their own variants. Now - there's nothing really 'wrong' with cash-grabbing, but preventing someone else from using a similar colorway is wrong. Greed.

Sad.
I'd love to buy one as i love SA but i cant justify supporting this after coco kinda insisted that he "owns" the right to make signature plastics handarbeit style caps and hindered another set to run because he told them that its his ip when its really not.
Drop should've cleared this drama up before running it imo.
