Damn, I am interested in how this sounds but already picked up a used hd800 for a great price. Yes, there are headphones with bass that go deeper with more quantity. However, I personally value soundstage & detail because that is what makes it sound like speakers. I think it is still the closest thing to speakers but in more detail (due to how environment bounce off speaker sound & some ppl not being able to play speakers very loud where they live). Also ppl get great results with EQ and SDR mod. I listen a little loud & the drivers actually rumble on bass.

IDAnonymousThe supposedly better bass is actually the main reason I'm so interested in these. I've been using a Fostex TH600 and TH6XX (for the office) for a while now and was never really interested in the HD800 due to the lower bass/more neutral signature.

IDAnonymousSame boat, I bought a pair of used HD800s recently...not sure how to justify buying another.
