So long Game Ones...
After a year in the headphone game it was hard to find a worthy contender to the Games Ones. As someone who owns HD650s and Bose 700 (Soon to be Sony XM4s) I’ve grown my knowledge acutely to define my tastes. While I never delve into the PC37X variant, seeing the improvements made with the PC38X drew my attention towards my first official Drop purchase. Man, these cans are killer for a gaming headset. I’m sure you’ve heard it a dozen times from the big wigs in Youtube but it can’t be stressed enough how valuable these are. Rich open back soundstage with crisp mids and highs and more defined bass. While the impedance is lower it makes up for that lack of loudness with a more refined sound signature. From FPS (Valorant, CSGO, Apex, Doom, Siege, etc) to immersive titles like The Witcher 3 or Disco Elysium, you’re getting a well rounded headset with a clean though not entirely improved mic. My only real criticism is the desire to see this headset in other colors or variants. Maybe some custom headphone cable colors too in the future? Overall I’m immensely satisfied and cannot wait to see what Sennheiser does next. (Please sell these to a wider market, EPOS was a good first step, but cans like these should be available in retail like Micro Center). 9.5/10 for me easily.
