PC37X with Bass!
My younger sibling needs a headset, so I figured that was the perfect excuse to upgrade to the PC38X First things first, the packaging isn't as "premium"

Unlike the PC37X, there's no "holder" for the headphones. There is, however, the bag and while this makes the PC38X feel less premium, the packaging was perfectly secure and I had no concerns about the headphones arriving damaged. Visually, I don't like the yellow. I would have preferred a neutral white or black accents. Alternatively, if they offered the PC38X in multiple accent colors, that would be better.

Comfort wise, I prefer the PC37X. I'm not sure if part of it has to deal with the fact my PC37X's have been worn almost everyday for over year, however, I find the headband's single cushion to offer more even comfort. It might be psychological, but the PC38X's split cushion design makes me feel like there's something on the middle of my head. This discomfort probably be gone soon, since the sound quality is better in the PC38X and this will be the new daily driver. I am curious if the split cushion design will help with the issue I had with my PC37X where the top cushion is slightly peeling off from the plastic headband. It's just glue, and maybe it's due to my over-stretching the top when putting them on. Regardless, it's nothing super glue won't fix.

As soon as I opened the packaging, I plugged in the cables and started playing Spotify. The first thing you'll notice in the 380X over the 370X is the bass. I immediately launched Overwatch afterwards. The sound stage is just as good as the 37X, which is to say you know where your enemies are based on sound. Which is amazing. The lower frequency sounds are noticeable, and while the extra bass does not make me a better player, it does make the game sound better. The added cushions and alternative 3.5mm cable is an added bonus. I'm happy with my purchase, but I don't think I would pay for upgrading from my PC37X unless I had a plan for the PC37X. I would definitely get the PC38X over the 37X if I was a first time buyer though.
