what are people using for their external sound cards? I just got a pair and found out it has a condenser mic which won't work with my simple usb sound card (it doesn't supply power to the mic)

don_diazI'm a total noob to this whole scene. I plan on plugging them into my motherboard and then try my Kplisch PC speakers witch have both headphone and mic output, and see which sounds better. Eventually I might buy a Fulla 3 if needed, its $99 has the headphone and mic output, and looks very simple for a noob like me.

don_diazI use a Sennheiser GSX 1000 as a DAC, which has a mic input. I do, however, use a Drop THX 789 as an amp, but I don't think you would need it. For gaming and normal movie watching, I can't recommend the GSX 1000 enough.

don_diazDid you ever get this to work? I've just bought a pair of these and also a couple of USB adapters but they didn't work (probably due to what you mentioned). I am going down the USB route as I have a (USB) hub which switches between multiple devices.
