Drop SHIFT V1 High-Profile Mechanical Keyboard

Our SHIFT keyboard earned a lofty reputation by condensing a full-size keyboard layout into a compact form factor. In the new SHIFT High-Profile, that lofty reputation is getting literal with a high-profile aluminum case that covers its switches. Like the standard SHIFT, this model is engineered in a space-efficient 1800 layout, which means its significantly shorter than a traditional full-size keyboard—ideal for desks with a lot of gear. The numpad and arrows are close together, but they’re still broken out, so they’re easy to find without looking down. In addition to its aluminum case, the SHIFT High-Profile comes equipped with all of the features of our flagship line: customizable RGB backlighting, a fully programmable layout, and hot-swappable switch sockets, to name a few. It’s a high-profile board, with the case and components to prove it.

Known for its toughness and ability to hold a quality surface finish, anodized aluminum takes center stage on many Drop keyboards. On the SHIFT High-Profile, it’s got its biggest role yet. That’s because it’s machined with a high-profile case, which covers the keyboard’s switches and gives it some extra volume around the edges. Heavy enough to stay put when you're whipping up an email or locked into an intense FPS match, the high-profile case also features an ergonomic 6-degree angle to optimize comfort. To help you find the perfect feel, the SHIFT High-Profile also features a built-in switch plate and hot-swap switch sockets, which allow you to change out your switches whenever you like—no soldering required.

The switches on the SHIFT High-Profile feature light pipes optimized to deliver the most light possible through the keycaps. You'll have your choice from millions of colors for every single key, so you're sure to find the tone you want. Program the lighting to cycle through the entire spectrum, or set it to a two-tone look to match your setup. There’s also a built-in translucent LED diffuser to minimize hot spots found in many other keyboards. Worried about flickering? Don’t be. The LEDs operate at a frequency of 100 Hz, so there won't be any visible flicker. Finally, we're including RGB LED indicators for Capslock, Numlock, and Scroll lock—all of which can be customized as well.

To make the SHIFT High-Profile pop off your desktop even further, each keycap is made with PBT material and outfitted with shine-through legends. A longtime staple in the keyboard community, PBT keycaps help resist the slickness caused by oils and sweat on the fingers. Additionally, PBT is super durable and long-lasting—and because the legends are shine-through, they’ll let in light from your PCBA, and they won’t rub off over time.

Customizing your keyboard is a lot of fun. That’s why the SHIFT High-Profile features a fully programmable layout designed for modification. Using QMK firmware, you have total control over every key. Plus, the configurator allows you to customize your keymap , so you can easily fine-tune your keyboard for gaming, work, or play. It’s also outfitted with two USB Type-C connectors (one on each side), allowing you to transfer data and charge devices at USB 2.0 speeds.
