Hey everyone, Thank you so much for joining the run for the SHIFT High-Profile. We really appreciate your support for this project. Unfortunately, we’re not seeing sufficient interest in the SHIFT High-Profile in order to move forward with production. We received a lot of constructive feedback in the discussion section, pushing us to take another look at what the community wants the SHIFT to be. We agree that features like 5pin switch support and improved stabilizers would make this a far more compelling offering. We’re going to revisit the design and specs of the keyboard and see what we can accommodate. JaleesaGI'm disappointed to hear this--I was planning on putting in an order for one of these a bit closer to the ship date. If you're trying to drum up interest in a new product, perhaps don't set the end date for the drop to be 7 months away?

prototype27I was planning on placing an order as well, I even checked the "remind me" and that never happened. Very disappointing... I can't help but wonder just how much the demand was impacted by the super far ship date. Hopefully they keep the 1800 layout, add 5 pin, and VIA support.

JaleesaGYes, I second this argument. I was waiting to place order closer to delivery date. I do not place orders for things more than 5 months away. In today’s economy, the production has to be quicker.

JaleesaGProbably not the right place to note this, but I'm not sure exactly where else to mention this. I have an ALT High Profile and have loved it so far but have been wanting a numpad given my work requires a lot of data entry. I was just about to pull the trigger on this until I realized the numpad has a 1u "+" key and the "-" is shifted down one row to make room for a "PrtSc" key. Literally if all that happened was that the "PrtSc" key was dropped (not sure it's needed anyways - seems like a legacy key at this point), the "-" key shifted up one row, and the "+" key expanded to be 2u, I would have put in an order. Realize it's a nitpicky little thing, but having (what I would consider) a traditional numpad layout would have been all that was needed to get me all onboard with this. Also maybe a barebones option and custom cut foam on the inside (such as what MKUltra offers).

RayZRThe entire reason I want this keyboard is because the "-" key is 1u. Its a part of what makes an 1800 layout. There are endless comparable keyboards that are the same thing with a 2u "+". Also, I constantly use PrtSc to screen grab and grab specific windows. This is an overly used built in feature. I couldn't see them dropping it.

SilveredgeI hear what you're saying - my thought here, though, is that this seems like an opportunity to take the attractive aspects of the 1800 (e.g., ergonomics and compactness) and merge it with the expectations of people who use the numpad frequently (the majority of whom are working on numpads with 2u "+" keys). The 1u "+" key on the 1800 was originally to make space for a legacy "Pause" key, so a "PrtSc" key isn't really holding true to the original 1800 layout, anyways (much less that the original 1800 layout had two rows of keys above the numpad, which added a hefty 1u gap between the function and number rows). Additionally, every single operating system bundles software that allows people to screen grab and snip windows already. Finally, you could reprogram a key (e.g., a function key) to a PrtSc if you really need it - the absence of a PrtSc can be addressed by QMK but the physical layout and ergonomics of the numpad are a bit more set in stone. Of course, this is all just personal preference - I'm just speaking from the perspective of somebody who lives in the numpad half the time they're working and have come to rely on the predictable layout you see in full-sizes (and many modern 1800 keyboards). This is so so so close to exactly what I'm looking for with regards to a hotswappable 1800 with an attractive aesthetic and solid build quality, so obviously somewhat invested in hoping for this change!

RayZROperating systems don't "bundle" software, it's 100% integrated and already bound to the Print Screen button. I don't have to do anything to use this button at least 50 times a day. Instead of a legacy button, it's actually gotten more and more attention as time goes on. Whether you use Windows or some form of Linux, it's gotten easier to use with more features. I'm quite shocked you don't use Print Screen. Everyone I know, computer professional to casual gamer, uses it endlessly. Easiest and fastest way to insert screen grabs of anything into whatever App/program. The only argument that I could see, is why do we need NumLock. It's there to convert the numpad into arrow keys and the home cluster of function keys. Since both sets are present on the layout, I don't see most people bothering to use NumLock. And again, from my perspective, I want the 1u "-" key. But that's personal preference, and lining up with the 1800 layout.

SilveredgeSure they do - Windows has had the Snipping Tool for over a decade now. Maybe "bundling" was the wrong word for me to use. I do see your point about needing it for when you want to capture a screenshot in some kind of full screen application (e.g., a video game), though. Also, 100% agree on the NumLock button - if that were replaced by a PrtSc, I wouldn't be sad at all.

Silveredge"I don't see most people bothering to use NumLock." You have to in order to access insert and scroll lock, which kinda sucks. I would love to see a faithful to the original 1800 layout, personally. Give me another row of keys across the top, making the board MORE functional than a fullsize, while still being substantially narrower. That said, just offering replacement top plates for the shift that are high profile would be great as well, since I love my shift, but want the BEEF.

JaleesaGHey there, any news on this project? If there were just high profile cases as upgrades available for current SHIFTs, in the colorways you have for ALTs like silver etc. it would be very welcomed news. Considering that you already prototyped the hipro case and have ALT and CTRL massed produced, it seems like you’d be in the position to offer an ala carte case upgrade if the pricing can be reconciled between supply and demand. It’s almost impossible to find a high profile, QMK, hot swap, numpadded (w/o cramming all the keys together like the nym96) all aluminum built board. Were there a high profile numpad to match the CTRL, that would be equally good since it would help lefties and spreadsheeters who enjoy simultaneous numpad and mouse use.

JaleesaGIt's been over a year since this post. Is there any new information about this board to share? I have a ALT High Profile that I love, but I need a numpad for work, and no other 1800 layout keyboard really appeals to me. Hoping this board sees the light of day, I'd drop cash on it without a second thought.
