Hi Everyone, As you've heard in the media, the novel coronavirus is having a dramatic effect on production capacity in China. As of writing, all of our contract manufacturing facilities in China are on hold, pending permission from local and state governments to re-open. At this point, it is very difficult to forecast the length or extent of the closures, as well as the delays caused by a slower-than-usual resumption of operations. We're monitoring the situation daily and expect to start getting more information about the situation early next week. We plan to send out another update in 5-7 days. Suffice to say, the delays that we have previously communicated will likely be extended. We thank you for your patience during this difficult time and appreciate your understanding.

fatscottfitzMy guess is the status is the same: They probably have no idea when the factories will be operational again with the ongoing coronavirus. My guess is we'll have many more weeks of the lockdown in China before people can go back to work and factories are operational again. And from that point we'll have to wait another 8-12 weeks as Drop queues for a time slot.

J3ff1n4t0rI know a lot of you are upset but I'm sure everyone at DROP have their hands tied due to the situation in China. I can't imagine all the products in production that have been delayed. We are all eager to get our hands on this board and they're definitely going to do everything in their CTRL to bring it as soon as possible.

fatscottfitzNot sure why it's not up here, too, but an email went out on Sunday, February 23: As of Monday Feb 24th, the contract manufacturer that is making the Drop SHIFT Mechanical Keyboard has restarted its operations. Their initial estimate for the Drop SHIFT production completion is May 31st, and we are negotiating ways we can be moved up on the timeline (each client is essentially out-bidding each other to get a higher priority in the production queue). Since operations have just restarted, this is a very preliminary estimate but it's the best we can work with for now (staffing levels today were apparently 20% of full capacity). We will provide another update at the end of this week or early next week- when there should be a little more clarity on the situation.
