I'm 100% sure this is a DROP issue but I ordered a black midnight mat and the mat that was inside my box was a dark slate with black accents. Is this how it's supposed to look or is there an issue with quality control? 🧐
Size and texture feel great, not the best craftsmanship
Desk mat received had minor manufacturing imperfections where the rubber underneath the fabric has some waviness or creases, and is not uniformly smooth and flat on one area. It hasn't improved since unpacking/unrolling and letting the desk mat relax. Otherwise, it is a decent desk mat for the price, feel and size... But I expected better quality.
Surface of the mat looks great, feels great, and (compared to what I've used before, not necessarily to ultra-premium esports optimized mouse mats) produces great mouse movements. Base is a very good (imo) rubber material that's heavy but not stiff. Unfortunately, the edges looked pretty nasty out of the box-- they had inconsistent coloring, some threads sticking out, and generally looking almost pre-distressed.
I suspect I'll keep using it long enough for my own wear and tear to outweigh any OOTB defects, since it's a nice and reasonably attractive deskmat overall, but it shouldn't have come like this.
I think this mat is very gorgeous and the overall build feels nice. However, my biggest gripe w/ it is that I can noticeably feel a difference in level of friction on this mat compared to my other ones. And because of the fabric quality, it feels like if I accidentally happen to drop a cable management velcro wrap on top of it, the mat will immediately fray. The mat itself is very soft to the touch, but even w/ just my hands there is quite a lot of friction, and as someone who games frequently, I need very low friction when moving my mouse around. Also the material of the mat makes me believe it will stain easily, not that I'd want to test it since I'm trying to return the mat. It just doesn't fit my needs.
