Pricing on this is hard to swallow. For GMK Yuri, it cost me $165 to cover a 96 key layout including novelties and space keys. Covering the same board in SA Yuri with the same extras (novelties & spacekeys) is going to be $325. That's insane. Drop needs to rethink how they are pricing these alphas and mods. There is no reason for regular latin alphas to be the same price as the cyrillic or the dual. If people really want those, then let them pay for the new molds. Don't force the majority of people to subsidize the few who want them. Based on the day 1 orders, this is going to be a flop and it is 100% due to the pricing because the colorway is beautiful. Edit: Not to mention that if all of these cryillic kits don't meet MOQ and aren't produced, the actual fabrication costs for this will be way way lower for Drop since no new molds will be needed, but the prices of the latin kits will remain the same. For example, if it costs $30 to make the latin alphas and $100 for the cryillic kits (due to new molds) but they averaged the price out to $60 per kit and the cryillic kits don't get made, then we're all getting ripped off.

ChitownM2That is what I am thinking, Massdrop used to be like the consumer themselves. They wanted fair prices and they gave/got fair prices. Recently it's been going terrible, everything is overpriced and there seems to be a disconnect with their members, it's a shame.

ChitownM2This hits the nail on the head. If people want the kits that require new molds, they should be paying for them, not everyone else.

ChitownM2If it would have been so the cyrillic and dual would have cost a lot more than the standard alphas, driving more people towards the latter. This would cause a vicious circle that would distribute the cost of the new molds to an handful of people. The result would probably be saving 20$ at best on the standard alphas, but making the cyrillic and dual cost 100$ or more.

ToselThat's perfectly fine. If your looking for a niche inside a niche inside a niche you should expect to pay crazy sums for it. It's also more than $20. Maybe $20 per kit so $40 total but I bet it's more like $30 per

ChitownM2Agreed, like my reply to another comment here, Alphas + Modifiers are $130 even at 500 kits sold, and this doesn't even include Numpad. @Tosel And I don't see how bearing mold costs for people who'd like cyrillic and dual rids us of a vicious cycle. We did not want cyrillic and dual in the first place?

ChitownM2I agree. 330 for a regular keyboard and novelties. Crazy.

ChitownM2Agree. I am willing to pay good money for keycaps. But $325 before you even buy a case and switches - custom keyboards are now hitting the $800+ range routinely for top tier. Crazy.
