You know, I had forgotten all about this knife, and I love silver carbon fiber (I'm a sucker for flashy knives generally). I went away after first seeing this new collaboration announced debating if nearly $199 was worth it for this knife. And then I just...kind of...forgot about it. I really didn't recall the silver carbon fiber option, and consequently had ranked this knife with a very low priority for one to buy, depending upon how the finances shook out this month.
And the reason I forgot all about the option that most interested me, and therefore didn't give it serious thought, which then led to me not even trying to find room in the budget for it? I'm pretty sure it was the lack of evocative photos. I'm a super-duper hyper visual learner; I literally forget things people have said to me only seconds earlier; I can meet a person dozens of times and still not remember their name. On the other hand, I can see a person out in public to whom I was introduced once, and I'll recall the venue where we met, the time of year, and the mutual friends who introduced us--all visual info.
I'm sure I'm not the only one like this, it's very common among males in particular (and probably accounts for part of the reason young boys have more behavioral problems in elementary school than girls, as they have a hard time processing the teacher's verbal instructions). So as I've ranted and raved before: why can't we get more pics of the most premium and therefore probably most profitable version of the knife? Why not invest a tiny bit of time and money to get us visual folks really excited about a new product?
HatuletohI wish each color/version were shown opened up...show side and lock side! No fancy angles, just show the knife straight on, show side and lock side.
HatuletohI’m usually all about the satin blades and the carbon fiber handles, but I really like the way the blue G10 handle looks with the Stonewash blade on this one!
zipsurfI hear you. I was so hesitant to buy this knife because I’m not a tanto guy at all. Today, with only hours to go, I ended up pulling the trigger. All the YouTube reviews were stellar on this knife, and I like the way the slate blue G-10 looks with the stonewash blade and the antique looking hardware. Plus, $160 for a WE Knife is a pretty good deal! Now to wait for five months!
