4-5weeks until I get this thing! So stoked! I guess I better get a balanced cable built so it will have enough poost to drive my 6xx's. Time for another trip to mouser... Just need to find a wiring diagram for the 4-pin xlr...

HeeftyCouldn't find it on google after searching for 30min, so I got a multimeter and did my own research.
This is what I found. (Orientation is facing the female XLR 4-pin on the THX) Left+ = female XLR pin 1 (3 o'clock) = Left 2-pin, fatter pin (should be the right one if facing the 'L' mark) Left- = female XLR pin 2 (5 o'clock) = Left 2-pin, thinner pin (should be the left one if facing the 'L' mark) Right+ = female XLR pin 3 (7 o'clock) = Right 2-pin R, thicker pin (right one if facing the 'R' mark) Right- = female XLR pin 4 (9 o'clock) = Right 2-pin R, thinner pin (left one if facing the 'R' mark)

Does this match what you're saying? I don't have a balanced cable to probe it out on...

HeeftyThe one in your diagram seems to have rotated the XLR interface by 180 degrees (compared to the THX), but the pin numbering and corresponding L/R and polarity (+/-) would probably be the same.

Jiv_auI gotta be honest, having the left channel on the right side of the connector is one of those devious pranks that people like me play when designing things just to bother people. I suppose it shouldn't be too much of a surprise...
