AIRobotThey did one in Feb '18 (ships Oct '18)... 2nd in June (ships Feb '19), so maybe a 3rd about now?
(looks at the number of 'Requested' - 2,749) That's weird. I could have sworn the number of requests was in the hundreds, not THOUSANDS.

Jiv_auI'm seeing "509 users have requested this product". Where are you seeing 2749?

JaggiI'm sure someone will eventually tell me what I'm doing wrong, but the pic still says 2.7K... Am I looking at the right place?

Jiv_auI'm not sure what page that screen shot is from, but perhaps it's showing total requests since the very first drop rather than current requests?
This is what I see on the description (overview) page:

And this is from the Audiophile drops page:

Jaggiand @Jiv_au, sorry about the confusion here, this is a small test where we are trying to display the total number of requests ever on a product. The number of requests since the last drop is the smaller number. I can't speak to when the product will be re-ran at this time as that is governed by our Collaboration Product Development team.
Would love to better understand which of the two request totals you prefer to see and for what reasons.

ltopperThanks for the clarification. I thought I was becoming senile, given my age... I think the number of requests since the last drop would be more relevant as it represents the product's present popularity, as opposed to past popularity.

Jiv_auSay more about present popularity and what you’re trying to decipher.. Does this mean how popular a product is within a given period of time vs all time? What are other ways we could indicate present popularity? For example, if a drop just ended and there had been 2000 requests and all of those people bought it, but now 10 minutes after it ends it displays 5 requests does that accurately convey “present popularity”?

ltopperI thought the more relevant questions was, what makes requests "Didn't" turn into actual sales figure.

AndyMokHey! I'm not sure I follow. Do you mean how many requests didn't turn into a sale?

Jiv_auI think this is great :) Would love to hear - what you feel the "since last drop" number really helps you do or understand?

ltopperIt would help other people realize how many are likely to actually purchase it vs just request it. Because I've seen many items get requested only for the people to not purchase them at all.

ltopperI think the "since last drop" is more important and relevant in technology products that have a very short value life-span. On the other hand the total number of requests becomes a simple historical data that has less weight for potential buyers to make their purchasing decision. As for cases when the "since last drop" is low, due to a product having just finished its drop, I normally look to the number of purchases and the posts in discussion to determine the popularity of the product. But if possible, I'd like to see a graph similar to a web site traffic analytics, but using the "requests" as data.

ltopperI’m looking at the number of requests since last drop, hoping that it is an indicator of the likelihood of another future drop. Some stuff, like Massdrop Made products especially, are regularly offered. Other stuff, I have no idea. When I find an old drop for something I want, my first questions are: “How recent was the last drop? What was the drop price? When might it drop again?” Since that information isn’t readily available—and since I want opinions anyway to confirm my interest—I take to the discussions. From the dates of posts (especially the more recent ones) I can piece together whether the item seems like a frequent drop or not. The number of requesters since the last drop feeds into that. If it’s been 6W since the last post, then 200 new requests tells me a lot more than, say, 1200 all-time requests.
