This is one of the best audio purchases I've ever made. It has audibly more dynamic range and less distortion than my well-respected German-made amp that cost me twice as much. It has plenty of power to drive my AKG K-1000 (one of the most inefficient headphones ever made) at gain level II with volume control at 12 o'clock. If someone is hearing music that is bright, it is their recording and/or their headphones, not this amp. It has a balanced input and a balanced output, which is all any rational user needs. Don't hesitate, just buy it and be happy.
When I use my unit at low gain and scroll the volume control , there are audible buzzes in my headphones. The buzzes stop when I stop changing the volume. Does this happen to your unit?
My amp is dead quiet at all gain settings, with no music playing.
If you can, try balanced input from a DAC and see if this issue still exists.
It actually happens even when no source is plugged. I'll try figure it out.
Is it a Lake People you have maybe? I am Considiring this to uppgrade from Lake People RS 02 which is a very good amp.
