Product Description
We teamed up with THX to build a leaner version of our beloved 789 amplifier. With THX AAA technology, three gain stages, and a new preamp output, the Drop + THX AAA ONE has all the essentials, and nothing extra.

wonderbrahWhen Drop states "sales x day or x holiday", "sales ending soon", and "hurry up and buy before sales end" they are not kidding there's no guarantee the sale will end at midnight or any specific time unless specifically stated. Memorial day was over at midnight so you could assume the sale would end then but no guarantee. Schiit magnius which is more powerful and comes with balanced output/input as well. If I didn't get one thx then trade up for the 789 I would been happy with getting a Schiit magnius and modius stack.
TheScorpioI have had the one linear($150 which is much more reasonable price to performance) and currently been running the 789. Both amps sound very similar and I have not had a Magni 3 but the reviews state it sounds very similar to both drop thx amps. The one linear is twice the cost and has less power than the Magni 3 Hersey. The Jds atom doesn't offer much in difference in sound and has less power as well. I can't think of any amps that will give you the performance to dollar and sound the magni 3 offers. If you don't need the power th Magni 3 offers the Jds atom is good choice if don't stay with schiit products.
TheScorpioI've had the Atom and now have one of these. The big difference is desk space and build quality, the case is really sturdy and heavy compared to the plastic Atom amp. They both sound crystal clear and anyone would be hard pressed to tell the difference. Depends on if you need the additional inputs for the Atom, the power and voltage at 600ohm is virtually the same though, and quite a bit less than the Heresy.
I've had the Beyerdynamic DT990 600ohm and they will power them and planars too. Unless you have headphones that need the additional voltage of a Heresy then you can't go wrong with either. I have the One amp with a JDS Atom DAC (the AK4490 version) and they look great in a stack.
What would this amp be like for planars with as low as 8ohms impedance and a sensitivity in the low 90’s. My first stack is a ifi zen signature dac and a standard ifi zen can amp with an xduoo mt-05 hybrid tube amp which I use straight out or as a preamp into my zen can for a bit of flavour and holographic effect with the right tubes. The Zen Can is meant for higher impedance cans, also in balanced mode output impedence is just under 2 ohms and 1 ohm in SE, so I am after something for the lower impedance end that won’t break the bank
Hi is anyone using this with a Motu M2 as DAC? For the life of me I cannot get sound out of the AMP to my headphones. I have RCAs running from the monitor port on back to the AMP input.

PotatoRawrYes thank you! Spoke to Drop support and they asked me to test a few things. Finally it was defective.. and got a new one shipped out to me immediately. Great people at Drop.
