More than I needed.
Overestimated my needs, but still a good deal around 150.

IlligarWell if you already have and like your DAC before you bought this amp at $150 then your solid. Also it's not balanced so your not paying more for a feature you would not be using. The thx one linear is a really good rca only amp for $150.

allsmilesbThat was more or less my meaning actually, but I might have been a smidge curt. I already had a DAC, but my amp was a small sub-500mW into 32 ohms thing. I bought this and jumped straight to over two and a half W, which ended up being way more than I needed; my most demanding cans right now are 250 ohms DT-770, which this can drive easily without going to high gain. I might have saved a few bucks going for something like a SMSL SH-6, which I could have bought over here in Europe rather than ship from the US. Still, it's a nice, well built amp that does everything I ask of it. I do think $199 might be a tad high given how ridiculously easy it is to find decent budget gear nowadays.

IlligarAll good you live and you learn. I had the one linear then moved to the thx 789 but don't run balanced. I basically should stay with the one linear so don't care to anymore in the future want to go balanced. My next amp will be a rca only amp the Schiit Asgard 3.
