Great wireless sound, no matter the source.
I've tried them with my iPhone (presumably AAC), and also with my HiBy R3 Pro (LDAC)... have listened to music purchased from iTunes, and also from Qobuz... both sound great. Out of curiosity, I briefly tried them wired... they were okay, but they're really built for wireless listening... I doubt I will use them any other way.
I am no audiophile, but comparing the Pandas to my Meze Noirs (my favorite non-portable headphones), everything seems a bit more defined. The bass is not as pronounced, but it's certainly there. I presume that once the companion app is available, I could very nearly reproduce the sound from my Mezes if I wanted to.
Would recommend to a friend.
I'm just adding to my review... nothing more to add about the sound... they still sound great, and I look forward to the companion app when it's available. I do have a minor quibble... they are comfortable to wear, mostly, but there is a spot where the headband (though padded) hits a small area on top of my head, and I do find it slightly uncomfortable. For me, the most comfortable headband I have is on the Meze Noir's (also from Drop). Their scheme is using two thick, flexible wires and a leather strap that distributes pressure more evenly across the top of the head, so there's no single point of contact.
Just a possibility to consider for the future, maybe.
