Not So Good Al
After reading about these headphones on the Drop site, I thought they would sound fantastic & beat out the Bose NC 700's that I have, but I wasn't sure how. No way!! These headphones may have been good when they were originally developed, but now, 2021, they sound horrible in comparison to today's headphones. Even my $40 Anker SoundCore Life Q10s have a better sound & gobs more bass. Yes, $40, that wasn't a typo. I wouldn't have gotten these had I seen some of the other reviews on this site. So my Bose headphones & the Sony WH-1000XM4s sound way better than the Drop + THX Panda headphones. Maybe if they go back & update the headphones & re-release them, they'll have a better sound.

Generally, if you think Sony 1000xm4 and Bose 700 sound better than the Pandas, you like more V shaped sound signatures, which is the opposite of the Pandas; the Pandas are more mid forward, and have a roll off in the treble, making them sound "dark." From a technical standpoint, the Pandas are a lot more detailed, and most audiophiles would say that they sound better, but sound is subjective. If there is a Panda 2, it won't have more bass and more treble, so don't look to that for better sound. I have the Sony 1000XM3's and I hate the bass on it, its way to boomy and muddy, bleeding into the mids, so I like the Pandas a lot more, but if you like the Sonys and Bose, keep using them.

I don’t love the Pandas as they aren’t very comfortable, the app is a beta at best, and the left side buzzes at times. However, other than the intermittent buzz, to me the Pandas sound much better than my Sony 1000XMX3s which I do like.
