  1. LDAC
  2. APT-X HD
  3. USB-C Charging
  4. a not crappy mic
  5. rapid charging
  6. ****OPEN BACK**** NO one has done this. If so I've never seen it. It can be semi-open even, that'll work too. Seriously an open back Bluetooth headset would be revolutionary.

chatt_a_vegasWireless headphones are designed to be used outside, how can you use open/semi-open headphones outside?

chatt_a_vegasGrado has a open back wireless headphone. GW100 I think it is called. It's got good reviews too.

iatsbohdanThat's not true. Wireless headphones are designed to be wireless. There's nothing that says you won't use wireless in the office or at your home. There's also no way to say being able to hear ambient noise is always bad even when outdoors. That's just marketing.

chatt_a_vegasMost open/closed hybrids via cover are trash so I'd rather they focus on a strong closed back performer than make a mediocre open and closed back

boneburglarI'm not sure where you got that I wanted a hybrid from, but I was suggesting either fully open, or semi-open. There are good examples of both.

chatt_a_vegasOops. An open back wireless headphone would be convenient to a degree, but also appeals to a very limited range of people. True, a wireless open back has only really been legitimately done by Grado, but if Drop wants to sell this thing to as many people as possible, closed is the way to go. People who are willing to sacrifice isolation for sound quality usually will choose wired over wireless with obviously some exceptions. Personally, I've been waiting for a decent wireless headphone myself, and if Drop went strictly open back here it wouldn't appeal to me as much, and from what I'm getting, a lot of other people in the discussion. Ideally, a closed and open version would work best for everyone but a wireless open back is so niche that it doesn't have as much demand as a high quality regular wireless headphone.

boneburglarI don't disagree. I find the 1000XM3's to be good for a fun sound and the H900 to be good for a more reference sound, both with with ANC. I guess in my mind, I'm more concerned about whether or not they can achieve something better than whats already available on the market by fighting in a overcrowded space. Of course they could always sell something cheaper but I'd like it to be fair priced but actually good. Odds of getting LDAC without Sony's involvement is slim to me but who knows?

chatt_a_vegasWell, it's supposed to be portable and used in places like busses and planes, so you really don't want any audio leaking. I think open back bluetooth headphones aren't very common for a reason, you know?
