Hey Friends,  Unfortunate news— we’ve run into a production delay that will likely impact many June orders. These circumstances are still evolving, but at this point, it looks like we’ll be able to ship ~1000 in June, with the remaining June orders shipping in July.  While the overall production schedule is moving smoothly, we’re missing one critical driver material. This material is produced in Europe and, and while our supplier expected to be done with local lockdowns on Monday, they’re experiencing some bureaucratic delays and won’t be open for another few days. This means the critical driver material will not arrive in time to meet our June fulfillment schedule. We expect it to arrive shortly, so we hope to see minimal impact beyond this delay.  We’re able to produce ~1000 units of Panda with material our supplier provided before lockdown (they had to shut down in the middle of our order). We’ll use these units to fulfill orders on a first-in/first-out basis.  Everything else (all the headband parts, the AAA amp modules, batteries, chipsets, etc) is ready for full production (all units ordered and more).  So once this final driver material arrives, it’s full steam ahead on all remaining orders. We expect to fulfill the July and August orders as planned.  For everyone who paid an extra $30 on IGG to get your Panda in June, if your order ships in July (or any time after June) as a result of this delay, you’ll receive a $30 refund/credit (we’re working with IGG on logistics, their platform doesn’t have an easy way to do partial refunds, so it might have to be Drop credit). We don’t know exactly who will be impacted today, those who are impacted will be notified directly once quantities and allocations are confirmed.  Thanks for your patience as we manage the evolving global circumstances. We’ll post another update in a couple of weeks.

WillWill, just for clarification on the first in first out. Would our contribution id's be at all a way to tell who would be in the ~1000 run?

CollinJohnsonWant to piggyback on Collin's question, is this specific to Drop contributions or IGG contributions? Or is this a combination of both? Hoping Early-Bird IGG backers are included in the June shipment...

OneSleepyAznI didn't even know Drop pre-orders were expected to ship in June. Are you sure about this? I think the logic approach is to first serve their backers and then Drop's buyers. In any case the extra $30 bucks is meant for IGG backers, so even if pre-orders are delayed I doubt they will give you some kind of compensation for you never payed in the first place for faster shipping.

Alejo1707There was a wave of "SN<1000" Drop pre-purchases before IGG pre-purchases. Although it says "Shipping July 2020" but with an Estimated Ship Date of June. 🤔

Omega1Wot? I never saw it! I first knew about it on Linus Tech Tips, went ahead and supported the campaign on IGG. So they did pre-sell them here first? Thanks for the info!
CollinJohnsonNope, point is, we don't know exactly who is impacted right now. We are fulfilling all orders based on first in first out, regardless of where the orders came from (Drop or IGG) it's all the same queue if you purchased with a June delivery date.

Alejo1707I didn't pre-order on Drop because I didn't know it was available on there when I ordered on Jan 27 so I got it via IGG. I wish Early-Birds were informed about a faster shipping option. I would've paid the extra in a heartbeat if I knew it was possible...... I presume a lot of Early-Birds like me made the contribution and never thought about it again, just hoping for email updates on our shipping info...

OneSleepyAznYou are still one lucky dog. I live in South America so I send my packages to my sister who lives in Canada. I receive all my stuff every Christmas so even if they ship my package on August I would still have to wait :'( I will be on the lookout for your review guys! Can't wait to hear what is on his way for holidays :)

chillspacePlease see @Will original post and a subsequent response to a similar question... they can’t tell yet who will be impacted. And, no, the sub-1000 S/N group doesn’t automatically mean that’s the group that will receive theirs. It appears to be a first in first out priority, independent of the platform.

MelvynOngAnd @chillspace...once again, if your orders were scheduled to be delivered in June...then you most likely are affected, if not, then no! And to be honest, it's at most a month after you original delivery date, stop whining people, you'll even be compensated. Plus your Drop points, which we still have no idea if IGG backers will receive them...
Alejo1707I don't think anyone is whining. It was a simple question that was actually directed at Will. There are a few of us that backed via the pre-sales on Drop and that was before the IGG campaign started. This actual timeline was not addressed, so I posed the question (as have others). I've backed 200+ crowdfunded campaigns and I am an extremely patient person. I don't care when it gets delivered and was just wondering about the Drop backers.

chillspaceThe logic is pretty simple, you expected it to come in June, you might be affected, else, you won't. At least with the info we have now, it could be that July deliveries get pushed to August, but fingers crossed to avoid this nuasance.

Omega1Well, for me personally, being in the S/N lower than 1000, I like to think so, but, this is the response I am keeping in mind... I would think, if it were really clear @Will would have said as much...

CollinJohnsonIf I recall corectly IGG contribution ended before Drop even started and there where about 4800 IGG contributers before anyone on Drop could even order Panda headphones. So first 1000 backers are most definetly from IGG. Also Dave referred to first 1000 backers as just IGG backers. But don't worry your order won't be impacted by corona virus pandemic so It will most likely arrive on schedule like it was planned. I think first Drop orders are planned to ship to their costumers on august, right?

WillI'd think those of us who pre-ordered from Drop, and have a confirmed SN<1000 transaction would get one of the first batch of a thousand. If not, I should probably have flunked both my Aristotelian and symbolic logic classes in college.

FayneActually It 's not true, first 60 min of orderings where made sometime in january. I think this is more relevant and fair for backers than thinking who is in the first 1000 group. Maybe you are in the fisrt Drop 1000 group, but not in 1000 group for all the backers. When did you order your Panda's so we can clarify this?

FayneYes this is a real muddle or jumble or how should I say this. Drop probably screwed this up with to different platforms offering the same product at the same time. If you're in 1000 group I hope you'll get it in june. I most definetly won't cause my order number was +3600 on IGG, I ordered on Feb 6th after I heard about those headphones on youtube from Zeos and Linus.

FayneAnd what's also interesting to me is that shipping time is july 2020, but for me it was june 2020, a t-shirt and now probably the 30$ credit. Maybe bacause the IGG is more risky business than Drop, or because people trust Drop more and they don't need to give up extra perks because of that.

chillspaceYup, not whining but more of a question to @Will since it was mentioned FIFO applies and there are some of us that got on the train before this was released to IGG. I would presume the 1000 was shared across both platforms but since the PO started here on Drop first, it would make more sense. Unless the 1000 was depleted before IGG which I highly doubt so.
DarijanThe initial Drop run started on Drop a couple of days before the IGG campaign started. Most of the initial Drop backers backed on January 24th (like myself). This is why the question is being asked. From the sounds of it, the SN<1000 straddled both Drop and IGG backers in those first few days but the option for early delivery (for the extra $30) was only offered on IGG.

KipperKlankDude...that's a seriously creepy idolization of Drop. I don't think we should be grateful for the company delivering on what we paid for, if they dunked the whole project and ran away with the money that would be a major lawsuit. I am a very patient and respectful person overall, and indeed keep Drop on good faith, but they are humans after all, and errors are bound to happen, which I can tolerate. That said, from my stance to yours, there are a couple of creepyness lines to be crossed.

DarijanTotally agree with you. I too believe they messed everything big time by switching from Drop to IGG to Drop back again. This whole thing is confusing for us as customers, and to be honest leaves an uncomfortable feeling on how Drop is handling things. I don't know which platform I should have bought my Pandas to get them as fast as possible and with the best possible deal.

Alejo1707I read both of Will's messages again and I'm thinking that he's specifically mentioning IGG backers because of refund policy that IGG as a crowdfunding platform has (no refund policy or somethimg like that), but Drop on the other hand is a store similar to any other, and they will probabaly compensate delays with credits automatically. But he should write this down plain and simple and there would be no fuzz about it.

DarijanThe super confusing part of all of it is that on Indiegogo people could pay to have their order in june. From what I've seen of the SN under a thousand that people order from Drop directly was a delivery date in July. So I don't fully understand how exactly it's suppised to work out, but at the same time serial numbers don't really mean anything and can be sent out whenever they really want to send them out.

CollinJohnsonI see your point, but I would be happy if they work like they should and if they really are the first audiophile bluetooth headphones, that would be something.
WillHey @Will , for the people who will be getting their Panda in June, when should they expect to get an email about taxes(if from IGG) or just delivery in general from Drop? Will there be another announcement when the first batch is ready to be delivered to the lucky few?

DarijanWell, they won't be the first "audiophile" Bluetooth headphones. There are several others already in the market. Some are pretty good. Some are average. Some are below average. Hopefully these will be among the best of the best. If nothing else, waiting for these has actually saved me money as I've held off all urges of headphone purchases until I receive them!!! :)

NebucatnetzerHifiman has the Ananda BT Audeze is considering coming out with a closed Bluetooth version of the LCD-1 Beyerdynamic has their Amiron Wireless There's the usual suspects from Sony, Senheiser, B&W, B&O, etc..... I own a set of XM3's which aren't bad at all but I don't know if I would classify them as "audiophile. I've also owned the Sennheiser PXC 550 which I really liked the tuning on. Both of these sound better with N/C turned off. I also have a B&O H7 II which are a little more v-shaped but the upper midrange & treble are very detailed. Only the recessed mids hold them back a bit. I'm hoping that the Panda does the trick for me!

WillHi, I'd rather get replacement ear-pads than $30 credit on drop.com since I don't know whether I can order on this site or not from Belgium. A few years from now, I will probably look for replacement ear pads so this would be reassuring to have those as soon as possible. This looks like a good deal to me =)

WillHave you reached out to those that are impacted by this delay yet? I am assuming that I am one of the later contributors to have paid the extra 30 to receive my Pandas in June, and therefore guess I will be impacted by this delay, but the fact that I haven't yet been contacted is almost making me hopeful.
