So yesterday I finaly got my Pandas having to pay just above 50€ of tax and import fees (germany). I'll write a more detailed review later this week when I finished my conclusion but so far my impressions are mixed but by no means bad. Starting with the good the build quality in generall looks verry solid with my only real point of concern beeing the usb-c port which was already "wobly" when they arrived which is something that should NEVER be the case. Regarding comfort the only problem I have is the sice of the earcubs which is tiny and makes the inside heat up faster then I have ever experienced at any headphones so I am happy that summertime is coming to an end. Clampforce is alright for me though I should probably add that my head realy isnt that large. Soundquality is alright, starting with the good things the imaging (and with that the instrument seperation) is absolutly incredible far exceding my expectations and holding up to my Sundaras paired with the cambridge audio dacmagic plus. I realy dont know how they did it concidering that the soundstage is more narrow then even that of my momentum 2s. Tonality is ... fine? .. I wouldnt say it sounds natural with this verry weired midbassboost and even more weired rollof in the subbass and the way to early, way to harsh, rollof in the highs which sadly results in a pretty big loss of detail aspecially for accustic rock or classical music. And even though the bass sometimes sounds a bit loose they can be surprisingly fast handling even verry busy metal songs pretty well (imaging might be a reason for that). Ofcours the sundaras outperform them by miles throughout the whole frequency spectrum but its not realy a fair comparison concidering they are open back planars with there biggest strenghth beeing speed and detail. I cant wait for the app so I can tune these to my likings, taking the midbase down by a few db and boosting the highs (8khz+) by a fair ammount should make them sound way more natural and detailed (I'll try around with some eq on my PC over the week to see if my guesses are right). I realy dont understand why they rolled of the highs so early as, atleast with ldac 660kbit/s+ (SBC seems to distort terribly in comparison), they shouldnt have any issue with distortion or noice flor even in the 16khz+ territory. Maybe @Will can give me an explanation on this cause atleast to my ears this rollof lets the Pandas sound way less detailed then I believe they are capable of.

Jonas_AaronI got one huge concern which is that the usbc cable does not go all the way in showing a decend amount of the plug and beeing verry loose. That should not be the case, should it? Any idears how I can fix it myself cause having to send it back cause of such an issue that is so easy to prevent would realy piss me of. I already payed taxes in germany and my old "on the go" headphones are starting to get some mayor issues so I realy dont wanne wait another month or longer. @Will

Jonas_AaronLook into an app called Wavelet on android, it uses an auto EQ feature that turns the headphones depending on the model and make. The app was made by an XDA Dev and it's pretty sick (only in android tho)

aaaafireballUsing it already and ofcours on android, getting these headphones for iphone would be kinda waste of money. I have been trying around a bit with bluetooth codecs and ldac just stomps the lower bandwith codecs (couldnt try aptxhd, my phone dosent support it) with usbc still beating even that though I cant point fingers on whats better with that I just smile more when using it so its probably either the lower distortion which is easyer for the ear or just pure imagination.. And even though wavelet realy helps fixing the roleoff I would rather experiment a bit with tuning the rest of the frequency graph more to my taste

aaaafireballman, I find Panda's EQ profile in Wavelet quite... horrible actually, lol. No EQ sounds much more natural to me. I believe it also only works for 16bit/44.1kHz audio and not high-res audio (e.g. Poweramp, though even that seems limited to 24bit/48kHz for me) EDIT: The 24/48 LDAC BT limit was caused by hardware offload being enabled by default on Pixel phones, got 32/96 after disabling it

dark_skeletonWell I have to say I used it for just a day too. Right now I am experiencing more with a custom eq profile but results so far are not stunning either.
