Hi Everyone,  Due to additional material QC and upcoming closures due to holidays we have some delays to the schedule. The latest is as follows:
  • For all orders with an original ship date in July, some units have started to ship. However the remaining units  are delayed a couple of weeks. We expect to fulfill all original ship July orders by the end of October.
  • For all orders with an original ship date in August, this timing is also delayed. Fulfillment will start in November and should be completed by the end of November.
For those who ordered a boom mic as a separate perk on IGG, we are still looking to ship these out mid October.

WillWhy isn't this pinned like all the other major updates before it? This is kinda important information with the delay and all that. Having to scroll a fair bit down to reach the newest update after immediately looking at last week's more optimistic one is pretty counter productive.

NuclearCoreThey either simply goofed or they knew they would get a lot of shit for this update. Holidays and QC are no excuse to delay product fulfillment.

ArchiCrocEven if it's Chinese or Taiwanese those holidays don't randomly jump around the calendar. They still could have adjusted their previous estimates based on these holidays. QC issues at this point tell me their manufacturer is crap or they didn't do enough product testing during the prototyping stages. And based on the language they are using units that should ship to unfulfilled orders to replace bad units from people who already have their pandas and that is simply not cool.

WillSo you had no idea these holidays were coming, huh? Are they new holidays that just started this week or they have been there all along and you’ve been lying to us and stringing us along while you keep collecting money for pre orders with a BS fantasy ship date that you know full well you won’t make?!? I wonder which scenario is more likely @Will? Maybe it also has something to do with this new update not being pinned at the top, unlike every other update... 🙄

LCRavaWe'll see how the holidays impact shipment pickup, driver film is still the biggest gating factor on production. Not stickied because sticky posts are broken, update will be stickied once we have a fix for the site (unrelated issue). Also, starting in probably February of next year, DROP will shift from a pre-order model to an in-stock model for new releases. We've been working towards this for a long time, much easier to sell things that are on the shelf instead of posting updates every week.

WillHow exactly does anything in your answer address any of the issues we are having? Why should I be remotely interested in what you will be doing next year when you don’t even have the slightest idea how you will deliver a headphone up to the promised standards I bought in February of this year? This could all have been avoided if you just told us December and shipped headphones early as they got ready and it would have made a bunch of people happy instead of us giving us a new delay every other week with a bunch of BS excuses and orders having to be continually pushed back in order for you to replace defective headphones. Albeit you cannot make everybody happy 100% the time, being transparent, honest and owning up to your mistakes instead of continue to lie week after week would have been the only right thing to do. If you really didn’t have a schedule for all the holidays and have an understanding how said holidays impact your production, quite frankly, I can not begin to fathom what you are doing in your current position and how you are still employed. If, in the other hand, you knew exactly how the holidays would impact shipments, you’ve simply chosen to lie and stall. Either way, this needs to stop. You need to tell everyone the truth, let everyone know if there will be another 3 months or so of delays, take whatever hit for the refunds and either stop selling pre-orders or sell them telling them the truth. There won’t be any headphones in November 20th for those who pre order right now. From your answer I can surmise that the reality is probably around February of 2021. You can’t even guarantee a working pair of Pandas for the people who have paid you in February. This needs to be handled far better ASAP. You guys need to be doing some kind of care package for everyone who has stuck and is still sticking by you.

LCRavaI think from the beginning it has always been an estimated ship dates. Delays happen due to unforeseen circumstances(CaronaVirus). Besides, you cannot control everything on your end when you are working with other companies for parts. If they are the ones causing the delay, there is nothing much you can do. Keep in mind that all the shipping dates were planned before the virus hits. Also, drop is one of the few companies that even bother to provide a weekly updates (on the estimated ship date) when they could have gone "Alright, sometime within the year" and go radio silence. In the end, they are just that, estimated ship dates and not confirmed ship dates. Just keep your expectations in check. I'm sure drop wants you to get your headphones as soon as possible and sell more headphones (more income). No one wants to be in this situation but unfortunately, with the world today, it is what it is.

WillThis is a shit show. Everything I’ve ordered from drop takes months to ship, even prior to COVID. I’ve received faulty products which I’ve messaged support about and wait weeks to get a reply, if I get any reply. Then when support and myself have an understanding of the problem, that support disappears and emails aren’t answered. Wtf are you guys doing there? Now you give us copy paste excuses of why once again nothing will be on time. Seriously? Holidays? What did they fall out of the sky? No one could account for them? unreal...

AysonSorry Ayson. I respectfully disagree. There are zero delays because of “holidays”. Are you trying to convince me that they were basically surprised in the last 7 days with the sudden discovery that people would take time off during these “holidays”? Or would you rather believe that on September 23 Will had no idea there was going to be a holiday and that they were once again behind on production? Bottom line is, not only he knew, he either chose to lie on the 23rd when he said stuff was on schedule for the second week of October, he is lying now when he is saying the delay was caused by a holiday or he lied both times and he is just stalling to minimize the amount of people asking for refunds for money that has already been spent. The only last possible option is that he is completely oblivious to what is going with the production of which he is incidentally the “Chief” of, which means that he has just been making shit up as he goes along and is clearly completely unqualified for his job. No matter how you try to spin this, DROP dug themselves in a hole, they have been caught lying repeatedly and it is completely unacceptable when not only they have our money for at least 6 months, they have not delivered anything other then excuse after excuse. Some credit cards do not allow a chargeback after 6 months, which means that if they decide not to deliver the headphones or to continue to deliver broken ones, there is zero recourse for us to get our money back short of the goodness of their heart or a lawsuit. Enough people ask for a refund and I guarantee they’ll turn tale and run. Check the case of a smart lock called GOJI, and just play close attention to all similarities. It is never DROP’s fault. Is always someone else who fucked up, although they are the ones selling the headphones and like it or not, the sole responsible party for this whole debacle. There is nothing about this that is ok. They might be acting maliciously, are extremely incompetent or both. Every electronics company that I work with, have been able to at least get enough product to their customers for 3 or 4 times since COVID started, with a delay of maximum one week. DROP are the only ones who are at least 3 months late, are completely incapable of fixing their own production and keep lying to us about it every other week on top of it. Unless they are fabricating Panda headphones inside the cave where all the COVID bats come from, quite simply, they are completely full of shit. Lastly, they should not be still selling pre orders to people giving them an estimated fantasy ship date of November 20th when they can’t even deliver working headphones for the people who bought it in February.

WillReposting this as it's likely to get lost in the sea of complaints. I'm in the Aug indiegogo batch, and ordered the book mic on indiegogo when it was made available as a perk. But now I've been asked to fill a backerkit for the mic alone and am being charged separate shipping for the mic alone. What's going on?

WillGuys be happy of waiting longer. There are a lot of people having feeping left cups and other issues. Drop is as it seems not having the quality control they should have due to people complaining about delays. Me of one of those having the left cup issue and not getting support about it am way more pissed. And don't know how to handle this now due to lack of information and support from Drop. So it's getting back on using my other headphones. Trust me this sucks more then waiting 2 month more and getting proper quality assurance and support!
So be patient it's I guess in the end better. And for Drop... GET YOUR communication together and give some information on how you will deal with the issues in your FAQ's!

WillHi, Can we have an update on the EQ app please? (mids 1k - 8k a little bit too much in your face and sub bass at 25Hz needs a serious improvement as at the moment you can only hear it faintly in the background but no impact at all) I tried Android EQ app Neutralizer but it distorts the music awfully so it is useless. Since you have THX collaboration it would be good to have a Dolby Atmos style movie preset for proper surround sound effect because at the moment it is so dull and boring for movies that I can only use Panda for music.

WillSpoke with my wallet and cancelled my order. The many responses detailing poor quality and the need for refunds on top of the poor management of the project made me lose my appetite for this product. Even the reviews suggests that it just doesn't have an advantage over other products in it's price range. Instead, the reviews point out that it is heavy, lacks comfort, and the Bluetooth compatibility is spotty (see the many workarounds). Drop will have one less excuse of meeting their deadlines with the absence of my order.

WillThere is still no response regarding paying separate shipping for the boom mics. I don't know what you mean by separate perk on indiegogo but I ordered the panda the moment it was available (in fact I'm backer #23) and the boom mic once itbecame available as an add-on. Why am I being punished for Drop's failure to coordinate shipping timelines? It's not as though I've already received the panda. Btw adding shipping costs to the boom mic makes it more expensive than if I were to have ordered it through Drop.

Rms2000Yes but it doesn't change the fact that the survey for the mic comes with additional shipping fee (we already paid shipping for the panda itself when we pre-ordered), which would actually make it more expensive than ordering from Drop !

Joe405I thought the backerkit invoice was just for the sales tax they weren't able to calculate and charge during the campaign. If you got charged shipping too, you should contact iggsupport@drop.com. Edit: The indiegogo faq says shipping is only free for US buyers and international buyers will get invoiced for shipping

ArchiCrocI already did and they are insisting that the perk is separate and thus shipping is charged separately. I'm buying from overseas; shipping might not apply for US.

WillYou know, at the very least at this point you should be giving out free boom mics to those like me who are negatively impacted with ludicrous wait times and incessant delays leading to complete uncertainty as to if you are even capable of fulfilment. The apparent complete lack of understanding of supply chain impacts to fulfilment for paying customers is just plain bad press at this point. Stories like this are exactly why people are saying almost everywhere never to do pre-orders. I'm giving you a week to do something to prevent me from doing everything in my power to get my money back.

WillThe way this whole issue has been handled is a joke, order was cancelled. Having to dig through a comments section to find out what's happening is unprofessional and not an indication Drop has the capacity to manage their own products or handle issues in a professional manner. Drop should hire a competent CPO

WillHere are the questions I would like answered in the next update: When will the companion app be released? What features are set for its initial release? Why does the Drop product page still say new orders will ship on Nov 16th when orders for August delivery will not be complete the end of November? How are the QA issues being addressed? Have you been able to visit the factory? What is your process to test the units that get returned to you? Is there any update on a firmware update that will add aptX Low Latency support? Do you anticipate all orders so far will be fulfilled by Christmas?

ArchiCrocCompanion app will be released sometime this quarter, features are firmware updater (means to do an update, we have no planned firmware update this year) and 16+ Band EQ. <1% of units have a reported issue, all repeated issues are given to our Product Realization team to determine a solution, standard process. no update from qualcomm, so no update re aptX. We expect the last pre-orders to ship by December, with units in stock later that month.
