Is it normal to be hearing a faint hiss or static noise while playing at low volume or not playing music at all? After the pop (which I assume is the amp shutting off or disconnecting) the noise completely disappears. Before the pop, I can tell that the headphones are on but after the pop they are dead silent. If anyone can tell me their experience it would be greatly appreciated.

AndizzleYes its normal, shouldn't be, but for these headphones it is normal and PC connection is abysmal

JNROPSThe background noise ruins low volume listening. I've read of people saying they are dead silent. I don't think it takes golden ears to hear how much noise I'm hearing. That's why I think it may be a defective pair. As for pc connection, I tried it and it worked fine for me. It's not my intention to use it with my pc so I didn't go much further than that.

AndizzleYeah that was the first thing I noticed right away it was the weird humming static sound when nothing was playing didn't give it to much thought because you can't hear it when you are playing something that's louder than the hiss then a week later after I finish building my PC the headphones refuse to connect its a constant in and out. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined T_T

AndizzleIt sounds more like a UFO or helicopter for me. It's probably some sort of interference and strangely it only happens when I'm near the PC (even when paired to other devices). In any case the connection to the PC is really bad and laggy, but strangely enough it works well with the phone.

Joe405Jesus a helicopter haven’t heard that one it’s usually a hiss from everyone that’s reported it, but yeah hope Will let’s us know wtf is going on if not I would consider returning them at least that’s what I’m doing cuz this is outrageous especially for its price point this is not a $10 headphone that you get from Walgreens

JNROPSBasically the firmware was not ready for launch, and it just feels like Drop made us all beta testers. I mean, the headphone sounds unquestionably good, even better than the PM3, which is a marvel considering this is wireless. But it's all for naught when the user experience sucks this badly.

AndizzleYES same problem here when connected to PC. Sounds like electrical interference, drives me nuts. Also BT when connected to both PC and mobile is unusable. Keeps dropping, random popping sounds.

Joe405Hmm, best way I can describe it is a high noise floor. Did you end up returning or exchanging them?

AndizzleTested with my mobile too. Samsung S10+. Hiss is also very audible. Altho on mobile the problems are less pronounced. I agree with @Joe405 on the noise levels.

AndizzleDo you only notice the noise at start up or after 10 seconds of no music playing? It takes many seconds for the fancy THX amp to power up so the headphone starts out using the basic qualcomm amp to play the start up sound and then switches over to the thx amp when it ready and that is the pop you may hear. After 10 seconds of no sound, it may pop again when it turns off the THX amp and back to the qualcomm to save battery. If you still hear noise once it's been playing music for 30 seconds, I would contact support.

ArchiCrocI notice the noise during quiet playback, the silence between tracks, and right after pressing pause. After about 10 seconds of no playback, which is when it pops, they turn dead silent. I heard noise after listening for hours on bluetooth and for hours on USB-C from different devices so it's definitely not some warm-up noise nor related to my devices. I'm waiting for a response from customer support at the moment.
