Its funny, all the reviews for the new Airpod Max compare it to the Pandas quite often. I think the Pandas are getting a lot of Free Advertising.

I hope drop uses this as an opportunity to add some of the features in Rev 2. more mics for anc and passthrough mode. and more modern design. at the same $400 price point. Panda already has better audio characteristics.

The soundstage on the Pandas is nonexistent. They do sound awesome but I hear the soundstage is pretty big on the max. And you can’t really compare the build quality, otherwise pretty great

Have to agree that the soundstage on the Pandas is lacking. I listen to classical and jazz mainly but on the Pandas listen mostly to chamber music and small jazz groups as you can't experience the 3D of the orchestra and the hall. Haven't heard the new Airpods but I did read in reviews that the soundstage was pretty good for a closed back. I wonder how Apple managed that.

Thats interesting. From what i have read the Max have a lot of room from the driver to the cup. I wonder if that has an affect. Again i hope Drop takes everything they can learn from the MAX and improve the panda for Rev 2. At $400 it would be great.

A big part of that will be apple's chip technology that can change the EQ 200 times per second.
