I had around 3 months of near perfect performance out of my Pandas. The worst thing they would do was a poor startup where they would shut off once and the second time they would be perfect. Fast forward 3 months. My Pandas started having random shut-offs, anywhere from after 5-60 minutes of use they would shut off. It was the tip of the iceberg. They froze up, totally unresponsive, with the white led in the breathing pattern until the battery fully discharged. After they locked up, I did a soft-reset to try and reclaim use of my expensive headphones. It worked for a few minutes, then the headphones began stuttering, the audio constantly skipping. Somehwere around 5 soft- resets later, I looked into the instances of bluetooth in Windows that the pandas are reporting. When I first got the headphones, in Windows, the Pandas would show up as a bluetooth audio device and a headset. After the reset, my Pandas would connect as an audio device and an undefined bluetooth device. After about 15 seconds of listening, the stuttering would start. The only thing that would solve the stuttering was to remove the "undefined" device in Windows. After doing this, the stuttering was solved. HOWEVER, the random shut offs still haven't been solved. The closest I've come to a solution is that I've found if I'm wearing a beanie, the run time is much longer than if the Pandas are just on my head. My best guess is that they have way too sensitive of over-temperature protection (or possibly moisture) before they shut down. It seems like after a couple hours theyll start up again and be totally useable, like they've had enough time for the electronics to cool down. This is all just my experience as an owner who is seriously wavering over returning my unit or not. When they work, they are absolutely fantastic. When they act up, I just want them out of my sight so I won't have to regret not just buying a pair of Sony headphones that would work perfectly all the time.
Busted7This EXACTLY what I’ve been trying to say to people. Almost every single issue that some Panda Owners are having, almost every owner has said that they are or were using the Pandas via Bluetooth on a PC with Windows (whether it be laptop or desktop). I personally have not heard of ANYONE who is having problems with their Pandas when they’ve been accessing Bluetooth only with IOS/Android devices. EVERYONE that I have seen mentioning they are dealing with problems have been using the Pandas with Windows. Another thing that I have seen many owners suggest is “if” you are using the Pandas via Bluetooth with your Windows PC to make sure you disconnect the pandas from every single device and make sure the very first Bluetooth connection you make is with your Windows PC. Then start making connections to your other devices. I am honestly starting to believe that almost ALL the issues are related to some sort of conflict between the Drop+THX Pandas and Windows. I was even told by a Drop CS Rep., “Unless you have no choice, at this time we are suggesting that you DO NOT connect your Drop+THX Pandas to a Windows device”. Thanks for kinda confirming my suspicions and even tho I have a Windows 10 laptop, I will not be connecting my Pandas to it via Bluetooth anytime soon. I hope all those who are having problems with their Pandas, the upcoming App and firmware changes will resolve the issues and owners can go back to enjoying their awesome (when working properly), cans. iAmBoomerStrongI will write an update later today, but the issues I had were on Android (pretty interesting to me what solved my issue, yay for working headphones). In general Windows is a sh*itshow with handling bluetooth headsets. My older Bose Soundlink headphones have always been difficult to pair on different machines with an internal card or a bluetooth usb adapter; not simultaneously mind you but different machines for exclusive use with them and it has always been a nightmare to move to other devices or reconnect them. I would put the blame 52/48 Drop vs MS in this one, since this is the only headphone that gets unusable after Windows does its thing, but damn is my experience with Windows and BT headphones BAD across brands and types of headphones (BOSE, Sennheiser, Samsung each different and each difficult to really use on Windows).

iAmBoomerStrongI've had problems even only using them with macOS and my android phone, I don't think it has anything to do with the platform they're being used on, just some firmware problems possibly with handling multiple devices since mine seem to crash sometimes when being connected to both and both devices play audio.
CanadianN1nj4I really do hope the firmware changes and updates come soon mostly for those who are having problems with their Pandas. I’m lucky, mine work great now and I’m just waiting to add a little sub bass to my soundstage. Great announcement today by SonarWorks about how the new SoundiD Reference works with headphones, speakers etc. Very cool stuff. I’m assuming only but my thinking this is what @Will and Drop has partly been waiting for was the release of the new edition of SoundID Reference and their Parametric EQ. The Drop Pandas are still not a selection on their list of compatible headphones but that must be coming also. Hope you get them working perfect again soon. Boomer 🐼 🎧

iAmBoomerStrongI'm sure the programmers at SoundiD are probably very busy all around and it doesn't help that there's a TON of firmware issues with the headphones, ones that are intermittent and would probably be hard to find a fix for. Though hopefully they'll be rolling on the firmware on new headphones when being manufactured. I'm sure 99% of they work they need to do to add the panda's to the app is the firmware problems, and probably 1% getting the EQ to be applied to the firmware.
