I was pretty interested in the Pandas because I could see some advantages in closed back isolation which my HD6XX open backs don't do at all. I do like the HD6XX very much but other people don't necessarily want to hear it. Also, I do some recording and I don't want a close mic capturing the headphone sounds, which is likely with over shoulder miking pan flute while using an open back playing a synch track. So I'm a bit disappointed that they are discontinued. I was dubious as they did not have market history, now they do & it's not good from what I read here, guess I dodged a bullet there. The other thing is that I have never had much success with Bluetooth, generally new devices pair with each other but after a year or 2 of updates, that function just doesn't work anymore. So I have to say that I am not at all surprised to find this complaint about the Pandas, it's just normal Bluetooth disfunction IME. So to me, Bluetooth is a worthless feature that I am not willing to pay money for, or even consider an attractive function. It's just trouble, an expensive time waster & a source of aggravation. I can't be bothered with it anymore. I would probably use it initially while it worked, but the fact that the Panda can operate wired and not rely on Bluetooth is a huge plus IMO. The other thing that put me off was the many reports of headband discomfort. This was a major & common issue that I wanted to see resolved before I committed to purchase. It was never resolved, not a good decision by Drop management. It seems clear to me now that changes at Drop management have been to the detriment of the organisation. I guess that the decision to drop all but the audio product lines was a sign of abandoning their initial commitment to customer service. Just another retailer flogging product is all it is now, zero customer service....... It just ain't what it used to be & quite frankly most of the product lines are not great quality or what most audiophiles would consider audiophile. The focus is clearly now on marketing bling, decorative non audio path tubes hanging out of amps etc. Even the mass buying price savings seem to have largely dried up. Needless to say, I haven't made a Drop purchase for quite a while. I think Drop management needs a good shakeup because it's not providing the customer service or price savings anymore. Not IMO anyway.
