One of the reasons I bought this knife was because it has a sub 3" blade which keeps it under most legal length limits. At the same time though, I have fairly large hands, so finding a knife that I can get a full 4 fingered grip on is a challenge, so this knife with this blade length and a finger choil is perfect for me. As far as gypped not sure what size would have to do with that. It doesn't cost much more to make a knife a 3.4" blade vs a 2.98" blade etc. Most of the cost is going to be designing, manufacturing, etc. the knife, not a half inch more of materials.
