beanerds2Which coffee colored sub combat did you buy, GMT or standard?
If you haven't got a GMT yet there are two or three new releases from Steinhart(Steinhart don't charge us sales tax here!) that work out a similar price for us down under. I really want a GMT auto, I bought a "Flieger" style quartz GMT from "Monchard" two weeks ago, and if you like lume this one is quite exceptional. Also like the 42 mm case,Ronda 515 movement, and sapphire domed glass I bought the Rose gold, military green dial Skytoucher GMT( a bit of IWC styling ) all for under $250 aud.
But in hindsight maybe should've got the Black PVD and black dial. If you do want to buy from the company, drop "Oskar" the owner asking him for the "VAT" discount he gave to his Aussie pal!! The watch also came within 8 days without the need to pay for express mail, all the way from Sweden.
I have been tempted with these Sub Conbat GMT for a while now ,but they are so close to my 'Soda" model ,apart from 24hr. GMT bezel. But the black, white and gold Steinhart 42mm GMT with the SW330 elbore movement really is singing to me : works out at $900 aud. ish.
beanerds2Hey, I think a "Big Croco" 22 mm leather would look brilliant on your bronzey sub, maybe a dark blue, you can source real bronze buckles on the net. The coffee colored Sub looks great, I prefer it to the "coke" ,black and red! Especially as I don't think anyone else is doing that color combo. The Steinharts that have just been released as well, have some unique color combos. The black and white 42 mm GMT Ocean One has a bit of gold trim like the Seiko LE. I just bought,

but it is the white dial ,similar to the Rolex Explorer II that attracts me.I have attached a photo of the Monchard watch, but as always they look so much better in the flesh; either that or I am a worse photographer than I thought!! Probably the latter, I think the spec and quality on these Monchard products are real good for the money. Having said that I just ordered a Geckota G-01 with red dial before their sale ends, $82 aud. discount is better than nothing and they only make 100 off each color dial!!! Yes i am a crap photographer!!!! Maybe visit the site or google for better images, search "Skytoucher GMT watch". Regards.
beanerds2If they are not sold through think about the current Ingersoll Michigan on sale at $95, I know it is last years model, but I can tell you I just bought one, this is a good buy! Sits well on the wrist due to the case-plate curvature. Okay I bought the LE bronze/gunmetal automatic one; but I am even considering this quartz chrono in grey as the black and gold sold through real quick.
This watch is called the "Bernardston"!!!! On Timeshop24 on sale!! Thought it might tickle your fancy as they say, not many people have watches named after them, similar anyway; the only downer is the price 50 euro's not saying by implication you are cheap!!!!LOL
