limbuOwned both, sold the R50. Mind you, the two sound nothing alike. In a nutshell, the R50 sounds dry, analytical, and suffers from unwanted sibilance all too often (despite tip rolling). As an alternative to the R50, I'd wholeheartedly recommend the Brainwavz B2, which I consider even more capable and proficient, sans dry/sibilant. There is one caveat, however. The B2 requires a very deep, Ety-esque seal. Otherwise, it too suffers from the same issues as the R50. The DN1000, on the other hand, is by no means overly analytical, nor dry, nor sibilant. It's also a great deal bassier than the R50 & B2. I'd advise researching further with regards to the type of sound signature you're after, and go from there. I can tell you this much with certainty; the DN1000 is definitely worth the price, and then some.
PolygonI recently got these IEM's and can say without hesitation they punch above their weight and then some. I'm using Monster Foam Supertips and they work very well with the Dunu's.
