You can compare them to Pyrex. Yep, you can break Pyrex, but only by doing the wrong thing. The wrong thing is to place a freezing glass bowl or container into an already steeped oven (350 to 500 F) directly onto the metal shelf. They need to warm up together. An empty oven doesn't actually take any longer to come to temp than to warm up with a frozen item. I'll probably catch some food safety trolls comments, but I guess I am saying use common sense. It really works in the kitchen!

Hand wash the lids; no more warped lips in (hot) dishwasher.

These are just about the cat's meow. Being of a low-profile they fit a little nicer in the fridge or freezer. Reading some of the comments, I am somewhat taken aback at the moaning on the sizes. Buy two sets, buy three, then give your nephew or niece the ones you don't want. They will love them. I like the fact that they are stackable and how they stack inside each other only taking up the diameter of the largest bowl for storage. My ultimate praise would be that they are glass with plastic lids that actually fit, and unlike the other storage container companies products, they don't take a flying leap out of the cupboard whenever you open the cupboard door! I wish I had purchased another set or two. Thanks!

I wish they had these in sets with multiples of the same size... Or at least a set that all uses the same lid. But better if they're the same size. I'd love a few big ones for leftovers and some lunch-sized ones for meal prep.

EZ_livingThat's what bugs me about all of these sets be they RuberMaid, Pyrex, or Tupperware--I don't need one in every size, I need three or four in the same size. Evidently none of these manufactures has heard of Goldilocks?

Can they safely go into the oven? What material are the lids made of?
TheDudeManThese are fine to put in the oven. They handle temperature changes very well and Duralex states they can go directly from the microwave to the freezer without issue. The lids are made from BPA free plastic, and should not be put in the oven.

If it was borosilicate glass I'd go for it... these are just like what I have plenty of already.

Can anyone comment on if these are better than one of the 18 piece sets on Amazon for ~$35?
