Is it possible to use a 4pin xlr cable with these? I don't know anything about balanced cables/headphones/amps. I have a Schiit Jotunheim and would like to use the 4pin output if it benefits me.
I look around at the cables and have no idea what I should be buying. I know the connector is 2.5mm, and I'll need two of those(right, left) connecting to a male 4pin xlr. I don't know what kind of locking mechanism will keep the 2.5mms connected to the headphones. This is the only area in audio that I have no idea about, and its not noob friendly.
Any help is appreciated.

Yes, you have to build it or buy one. Check Z Reviews of E-MU Teak.

Yes, $60 is "cheap" compared to $250, but $60 is not "cheap" considering what it takes to make a cable like this. To me, $60 is still in the "whatever-the-traffic-will-bear mode," and not reflective of actual cost to build. (But what do I know?)

Yeah unfortunately these are not wired the standard way that 2.5mm works, so about the only replacement cables you can get is cables for Sennheiser HD700s. Then you would either need to splice the cable onto a 4pin, or buy an adapter like this one. https://www.amazon.com/SX-T-3-Balanced-Headphone-Cable-Adapter/dp/B01MYS8DG8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1500307675&sr=8-2&keywords=1%2F4+to+4pin+xlr

Thanks. I noticed this, and so did the cable builders at Periaptcables. They wired them for the emu specifically.
Great Customer service.
