Is it possible to use a 4pin xlr cable with these? I don't know anything about balanced cables/headphones/amps. I have a Schiit Jotunheim and would like to use the 4pin output if it benefits me.
I look around at the cables and have no idea what I should be buying. I know the connector is 2.5mm, and I'll need two of those(right, left) connecting to a male 4pin xlr. I don't know what kind of locking mechanism will keep the 2.5mms connected to the headphones. This is the only area in audio that I have no idea about, and its not noob friendly.
Any help is appreciated.
Yes, you have to build it or buy one. Check Z Reviews of E-MU Teak.
For anyone else, I found a cheap cable from periaptcables.
$60 instead of $250+
Yes, $60 is "cheap" compared to $250, but $60 is not "cheap" considering what it takes to make a cable like this. To me, $60 is still in the "whatever-the-traffic-will-bear mode," and not reflective of actual cost to build. (But what do I know?)
Thanks. I noticed this, and so did the cable builders at Periaptcables. They wired them for the emu specifically.
Great Customer service.
Think i will get some cables thru them, they look solid. $60 tho. Wheww!!
