Same exact desing as the Fostex.
What is the Relation and the Diffrence?
That said, they all have slightly different sigs. I would read reviews to get an idea of the slight signature changes and how the wood affects them. Overall the teaks (w/ Teak) tend to have a slightly less aggressive V sound than the X00s and others similar to it.
Yep, wood type, cup shape and any slight interior differences will affect the overall sound but all are a different take on a v-shaped sound. I find the foster take on V-shaped tonality much more pleasing than many 'phones with that style. Ebony also tends to sound a bit "harder"/"firmer"/less bass bloom due to it's density compared to other woods used for audio.
wait a sec. I have the Ebony .If I change the cups to a Mahogany cups would that mean i would get the same exact sound sig as the Mahogany ?
All the TH X00 and EMU headphone cups are swappable... assuming you are swapping TH ebony for TH mahogany then yes. The EMU cups are made slightly differently so emu cups on a TH won't be an exact match but again very similar.
The Ebony cups are milled very similarly if not the same to thx00 cups. I have visually confirmed this.
I do believe EMU sources their own cups (can't find source ATM) but they will fit all the Foster 448498 series frames.
I know they do. Chan has shown his milled cups. Plus his milling on the teak cups is unique because his teak notoriously difficult to mill due to how naturally hard and oily it is.
However the ebony and rosewood I had has very similar internal chamber to the thx00 mahogany cups.
IIRC the teak has more material removed, I read it's why it has a little extra soundstage. I haven't personally tried the other cups though.
