Literally just pulled the trigger on the Monolith M1060 a few days ago. I was considering getting the EMU's to replace my X00's because of the removable cable but decided against it for the Monoliths. Now this drops. Why you do dis MD? xD

I have both and prefer the 1060. Wider and more open sound stage. The bass is fun on the Teaks and for certain genres like EDM might be better.
I'm saving now for a holy grail setup I think.

Pretty different, one is semi-closed the other is open back.

I also have vegan pad modded M1060s and have been thinking about joining this drop. My impression is that the Teaks should have heavier bass slam/impact and more quantity in general. While the M1060s, being planars, have faster, punchy bass that is textured well, but isn't super heavy and not super warm. Does that match your experience? What is your holy grail setup?

yep. that sums things up pretty nicely. imaging with M1060 is much better.
how do you like the pad mod? which pads? I am pretty happy with the M1060 and if I mod them, I only want to do it once.
I'm thinking a Stax set up at the moment. I really need some ear time with a few set-ups but bricks and mortar high end audio is hard to find near me.

I have the Audeze vegans. It was a significant change and smoothed the treble and warmed the bass a bit. Watch the DMS3TV mod video that just came out. I am going to try his mods soon as it looks to give the best results. Ends up measuring closely to LCD-2
I have been considering TH-X00 and the Teaks for a while now, but everyone seems to prefer the Teaks even with the extra cost. I'll probably end up joining this drop.
Yeah, I recently found someone local to meet up with to audition Stax. I am really curious about them as well. Another alternative you should look into is The Cable Company. They rent out high end headphones for a small fee. Definitely some interesting gear on there.
