I have a pair of these from the first drop that sound great but they're basically unusable now due to sound cutting out. The cable 2.5mm ends don't securely snap in to the female jacks which is causing the left ear to cut out unless I push the cable in for it to make a better connection. The right side cuts out with the slightest movement due to the TRS connector moving inside the female jack and not making a connection (or shorting, I don't know the science behind it). I have a custom cable that came from my TH-X00 with Eidolic 2.5mm connectors that is OK on the left side but the right side is no better. So, in short, the original cable was poor quality (loose connections) and the female 2.5mm jacks are not ideal due to wiring and possibly also poor quality (one side is much more sensitive to movement/pressure).
My question is whether the female jacks in the ear cups are still the same in this drop and is the TRS wiring still the same? I understand the cable is different and seems to be getting better reviews but that is only half of my problem. If the female jacks have not changed, is there a way to replace them that anyone is offering? I've seen plenty of custom cables but not a solution for the female jacks.

Sounds like E-mu cuts corners on quality control. I have the Fostex versions and have had no quality issues. I have joined this drop but feel it my be time to cancel this order I have a bad feeling about these. Chan has responded with an email saying send a check for $100 or $120 depending on the cups I choose. I do seem to remember it used to be $70. for different Wood Cups but hes charging more now.

Update: I had sent an email before I made this post and I got a response the next day (time difference and such) that E-MU will pay to have FedEx pick them up and ship them to Singapore for repair. After a little confusion I found it was easier to bring them to a FedEx store near work so that they could format the address properly and include the necessary customs documents. I dropped them off on 8/16 and just got them back today, 8/28. The female jacks in the ear cups were replaced and they swapped out the cable for the new version (at my request). I can't say that they're wired differently now but audio no longer cuts out even if I push the connector in any direction. I tried another cable that had the issue before and it works perfectly now, as well. Whether they stopped wiring the jacks in a way that causes them to cut out, or they started using higher quality jacks, I'm not sure. I can only say that I have absolutely no issues now. The only thing it cost me was 12 days of waiting for the repair which is pretty fast as far as I'm concerned. Chan and E-MU have more than redeemed themselves and I wish I had contacted them earlier instead of waiting for so long. I think they went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my purchase. These are now my favorite headphones again over my TH-X00 and TH-600.
PS - The new cable is much nicer. A bit thin (think IEM cables) but shorter, more pliable, and better looking than a plain black cable. It also came in a little Pelican-like case which would be handy for transporting, storage, etc. The only difference is that the 3.5mm jack is no longer threaded for the 6.3mm adapter to screw on but the adapter snaps on securely and I'm not worried about it disconnecting.

That's the kind of customer service every company should offer. I will definitely buy a pair if they come back on Massdrop. Thanks for the update. I just wish everyone would take time to share their experiences with products sold here. Sometimes I just can't find actual reviews from people who had purchased the items. Thank you again for taking the time to share.
