Hi fellow Teak owners.
Is there a balanced 2.5mm cable that anyone has managed to get working with the Teaks?
My Cowon Plenue R has a 2.5mm balanced out and I am very keen to get the Teaks running out of that. It tightens up the bass and delivers more drive which I want to achieve.
Thank you

Matt_M_MThe hot and ground are reversed so you need a 2.5 with 2 poles, https://periaptcables.com/collections/all sell a 4 pin xlr that works and is very nice. I don't know of a 2.5mm balanced option.

Steve007That's a shame... thanks for the reply. Currently my Plenue R lacks a bit of power to drive these with authority. I am thinking of investing in an iBasso DX150, get some more power into them.

Matt_M_MThey really come alive with the 4 pin xlr balanced. I ordered a balanced 2.5mm it was a little pricey for my liking . I will post once i receive it and try it out.

Steve007Awesome! Where did you get the 2.5mm cable from? Would love to get your verdict once you have a chance to try it out.

The wiring has me a little concerned as to whether i will truly be getting a balanced signal. I'll have to dig out a meter and chk the contacts. I have several daps as well as dac/amps. I used them last night with my Oppo HA2 SE and I am not sure whether they are finally getting burnt in or the combination of that with this dac/amp but the sound was far superior to anything else i have listened to them with. If you know anyone with one you should try them with it.

Steve007The other thing i did yesterday was to put a set of MD pads for a TR50 MKIII on them. I found it helped with the clamp which was a little light stock.

Steve007I can't wait to hear how you get on with that cable!
I am hoping to eliminate a touch of occasional sibilance I get in them. Running other headphones I have in balanced seemed to helped a bit with that.
I also want to get more power from my DAP which is a Plenue R from Cowon. Currently considering the iBasso DX150, has more output, bit would prefer a balanced 2.5mm cable for the R's balanced out.

Matt_M_MAlright i received a balanced 2.5mm cable and have been using it with the dap's i have and i am impressed. Although it was a little rich for my liking I would highly recommend you give it a try. I'm using an AK 380 with its amp module at 120 (150 is maxed)and for me its about right but there is plenty in reserve. Sound is spectacular.

Steve007That sounds amazing. How much did it set you back if you don't mind me asking?
Also, do the 2.5mm plugs fit nicely I to the earcups?

Matt_M_MThe 2.5mm plugs are an extended version so they will work with anything but they are not as attactive as the original. I have several headphones that take the 2.5mm so it was easy to justify. They were about $70 US which is a little rich, but having said that a substantial upgrade.
