I really hope they bring back this drop very soon. I want some bassy, fun headphones with those ebony cups, but don't wanna go for the Fostex TH-X00. I feel like these would be intimately comparable.
You can purchase these direct from EMU. Email Chan at email@example.com and he will provide details.
I saw them on Creative's website, but they were like $999. You think we can get E-Mu Ebony for the same $450ish price that way?
That price is in singapur dollar and I think that I read from somewhere that the prices for these headphones will be 475＄, but I might be wrong.
Hmm, well that still comes out to $725 USD so I think I'll wait for more information.
I bought mine from Chan directly through paypal for $475 US shipping included. They should arrive soon.
Hmm, while I trust Creative and E-MU as companies, and Chan seems to also be a reputable friend, the email sales sound a bit under-the-table. Will they have full warranty? Do you have a receipt, proof of purchase, etc?
I'm willing to look into it, of course.
I understand that it is a bit of a gamble but plenty of other people on Headfi and Reddit have purchased wood cups and cans from Chan directly without any trouble. I do wish they had a more upfront way of purchasing these headphones here in the States but it looks like Massdrop is the only thing they have set up at the moment so if you want to buy these in-between drops, the only way to do it is through paypal and emailing him. I actually just emailed Chan about the warranty this morning. I let you know what he says. I do have a receipt/proof of purchase through paypal.
Thank you, that would be much appreciated.
Anything yet? Now that the Purplehearts are back, I'm getting a bit of Fostex-lust.
What other cans you own? Fostex is good but they aren't the only good headphones out there ;-) and this is coming from someone who owns/ed many fostex cans.
beyerdynamic T1 Tesla, Sennheiser HD 600, Sennheiser HD 598, Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250 Ohm, to name a few.
don't have too much lust, the t1's are better than the fostex and the Sen 600s are on par with.
Oh yes, I know my T1 is the best, and the HD 600 is my best neutral reference set. But now I want a set of fun headphones, like these. Looks great, bass is boomy, sound is fun. You know what I mean? Then I'll have the best of all worlds.
