Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

From what I can gather, it has very similar sound depending on the wood.
TH-X00 to my ears: -lush mids with a pack of info on the L and R of your head. -clarity and imaging of the sound was immediate to me and I loved that. -Bass was punchy and tight--nearly as good as planars like from a HE-400i. Love the bass. -Smooth sounding and I don't think I had too much of an issue with the sibilance of the TH-X00. -Sound stage was more than adequate from semi-closed pair of cans.
Is it worth snagging a pair of E-MU teak Ebonys if I already am ecstatic about TH-X00 Mahoganys?
There isn't too much literature on E-MUs Ebonys compared to the TH-X00 line-up and I would hate to be redundant and have 2 headphones with the same sound.
Thanks!
So maybe they are different from sample to sample, or maybe it's brought out more depending on the amp and system you are using?
So right now, I find the TH-X00 just fine to my treble sensitive ears, though I know they may vary from sample to sample, and on different systems (I have used mine on the MicroZotl2 that dropped here a short while ago, an original but modded MicroZotl from about 2000, and a Gustard H10 with full Burson V5 upgrade). Again, hot treble and silibance are a killer for me, so I'm not sure what the difference may be.
I also received my E-MU Teaks from the last drop a couple of weeks ago. I'm excited to try them out, but alas have been busy with a new baby!
